Mango worms/bloat flies. They are the creature of nightmares.

If there was any animal I would want to eradicate from the world it would be those. (Really any parasite that isn't symbiotic really).

Share stories of when you have someone animal/pet advice and they completely refused.

>woman has kitten with smelly, decaying bulged out eye

When I was younger, a stray we picked up had puppies. They were all adorable. It was during the summer and my dad refused to let them inside. They were all in a kennel with the mom with a tarp over the top.

One day, I found one dead. Heat exhaustion.

The rest died soon after.

I kept telling him to let them in. I even brought them into my room and got yelled at for it. The last few were sick and I asked if he could take them to a vet. The last one I held in my arms as it died...

The mother...

We also lived by two busy roads as a child. The stray we picked up when he left my mom and we moved out in the country. But before that we lived in town. Two major roads, one in the front of the house, one going past the side. We lived on the corner.

My mom kept 3 cats at a time. Never spayed/neutered. I'd keep one and it'd get run over. Keep another one...same thing. I pleaded with them to have the cats fixed but apparently we were too poor/they couldn't call around for a voucher bc they are...

I'm also an adult now.

To anyone who experienced losing pets one after another due to shitty parents, I'm so so sorry and I feel you. I'm sorry you had to go through that and I'm sorry if it made you indifferent to animals/pets. It'll get better. :) Especially when you can make your own rules.

21 KB,
Throughout the evolution of mankind, biological features have developed out of necessity.

Some of these have naturally regressed as evolutionary needs have changed. Since the beginning, of course, this indefinitely shaped evolutionary how we appear and so needless to say many people from many parts of the world look different, developing characteristics which in some cases overlap.

Even through billions of years of biological life and millions of years of human evolution, in our DNA exists data that binds us all together and pinpoints to common data that is relative...

Very simple op.
Pubes are not at all necessary, but they are not a hindrance to our survival in anyway.

I'll quickly explain evolution in case you don't entirely get it. If a member of a species develops a mutation at birth that increases it's odds at survival then it outbreeds all of the inferior members of its species (polar bear mutating to have white fur made it better at survival than other members of its species)

For the pubes gene to be bred out then those who are born with a mutation to not have pubes would have to have better odds at...

read Gould on spandrels, vestiges and atavisms.

pubes don't necessarily serve any purpose, it takes millions of years to lose traits that aren't actively selected, and we haven't existed for that long.

clothing is probably one reason they continue to exist- we don't get to see the bush until we're ready to fuck it and by that time most people aren't going to stop just because pubes.

also humans evolved to hide sexual signals regarding menstruation and arousal in women....

Even so. It takes millions of years for a neutral trait to be bred out in a natural setting. As I said in my reply we live in a modern society where nearly everyone gets a chance to breed. So I'd say it would take even longer for pubes to be stamped out

174 KB,
A stray cat decided to have kittens in my yard. I just discovered them today, I saw them from afar on the side of my house in an area I never go to. There are three of them, and I'm guessing they're about 4 weeks old. They are still nursing.

I have no idea what to do. None of us in the house has ever owned a cat, and one of us is allergic. Plus we have two dogs, who also have never lived with cats. I called several cat rescue groups near me and none of them are accepting any animals. I moved here from across the country not too long ago so I don't know...

Call animal control and have them euthanized.

It sounds cruel, but it's the kindest available option if you want to actively involve yourself and you're not willing to take them in yourself.

What kind of life will they have, since no animal rescue groups are accepting new strays and no one you know can give them a home? Not a very good one. They can be picked up and beaten by not-very-nice people. They can get hit by a car or caught by a dog or fox or some other predator. Stray cats do not live very good lives, and the lives they DO live only create...

This. I just had a stray young cat die in my arms from severe worms a few days ago and it was terrible. Its stomach was all bloated and it was meowing softly in pain( which is why I found it) and even though my local rescue could take it, it died before I could get there. Even if they end up being euthanized, they'll have a couple days of food and warmth and love and die quickly, which is a lot better than what happened to the cat I found
