Can we use these to breed dogs that look like foxes? Cause I really want a dog that just looks like a fox, but without all the annoying traits of a wild animal.

>>
probably not, because the are not really closely related to dogs
>>
>>2074776
No, because the maned wolf is actually a type of fox, and foxes don't have the same number of chromosomes as domestic dogs. Real wolves, coyotes and jackals are capable of hybridization with dogs though.

Are there any vets here? Would it be a mistake to go to vet school and take on $200k in debt + 20 years of interest while having a salary of $60-80k if I don't specialize?

My current lab technician job makes me want to kill myself.

Is this a thinly veiled "why would people become vet instead of real doctors" thread again?
>>
>>2073966
No, it's not. Human doctors are fuccbois and human patients are the worst.
>>
>>2073948
being a vet is shit unless you actually like treating dogs in the final stages of cancer and dealing with owners so dumb you could swear a 6 year old would treat animals better.
lab technician sucks but being a vet isn't much better. unless you want to work with other stuff besides regular pets, like wildlife or public health

You're gonna love this, trust me

This anon knows where it's at. All human vanity becomes so fuckin transparent in the light of the fact that we're all big naked, fleshy apes. Human racism is basically when ugly apes of one colour deciding that they are prettier than equally ugly apes of some other colour.

We don't even have the graceful beauty of the guys in the pic.

I was trying to think of any evolutionary advantage of homosexuality in animals, which does exist. Because really being gay is Panda tier, and according to the laws of natural selection it really shouldn't exist. Okay so I posit this: perhaps homosexuality exists to give animals a companion and sexual satisfaction without increasing the group's population to an unsustainable number. Is this a retarded theory?

>>
I'm not a scientologist but I think natural selection works in broad strokes and isn't capable of eliminating every negative fluke in a species.

And now I'm going to give my opinion because fuck it: people read way too much in homosexuality. Is it a good thing? No. Is it a bad thing? No (even the argument of preserving the species falls apart because a gay man can still dick a woman). It's also pretty bullshit to say people cannot become gay and its strictly from birth. Sexual preferences (at least in my experience and from observation) are fluid and not static.
>>
>>2073382
K well some fish and frogs can change sex, usually female to male, if the population is uneven so they can reproduce
It's definitely a positive trait for the species, but I posit some species can become homosexual to ensure they don't reproduce at all
>>
>>2073385
That's an interesting position but I'm pretty sure species that exhibit homosexuality still overproduce. Animals population control is regulated by their environment and not self regulated. They over produce and starve and produce less.

I loved botany. We had 35 apple trees on our property for about 20 years. Horses loved them. Family loved them. Deer loved them. Sasquatch loved them. Everyone loved them. Hell my daughter even wanted to become a botanist when she grew up because of these apple trees. Then one day we transplanted 5 short stacks that we bought from a local farm and a disease spread through our crop. By the time winter came around we still didn't have it fully contained and by the spring all of them were dead. Two decades of joy destroyed by some fat fuck farmer who lied about where the trees came from and somehow didn't understand the spread of viruses.

Cats do what they want, not what they are told

The cat is overstimulated by the harness. My cat also shuts down completely if I put anything on her like that, so I gave up on harness training. Some cats are more easily overwhelmed than others and react to the stress by going limp.

No way. I like to bring my dog on first dates because she is big and hairy and slobbery, and I will know instantly if a potential mate can handle that or not.
