1. take a scooba class

2. ask instructor
>>
Depends on where you live. It would be almost impossible for me since the diving isn't nice where I live but I could get a job as a diver for an oil field. Pay is nice as fuck but it's dangerous. I'd rather just finish my Masters and work in my own field
>>
>>2076639
Any SCUBA instructor I've asked regarding career opportunities involving diving (be it recreational or commercial) has pretty much replied in the same vein; It looks fun from afar, but once you get into the thick of it, most people get tired of it before too long.

For recreational diving instructors, it's a saturated market, and you're essentially responsible for the safety of your students/customers; Not a terrible problem if said students/customers are sensible people who'll actually pay attention to and follow your guidance, but as in just about any service industry, there's no shortage of irresponsible fuckwits who can't seem to comprehend the inherent risks of diving, and why safety drills and measures should be taken seriously as a result. The pay is mediocre as well I'm told, so unless your job satisfaction is soaring, you eventually find yourself thinking about better fields of work.

For commercial diving, I was told the pay is much better, though not as great as it once used to be. Picking up the required certifications isn't as tough as it once was, and there's a lot more competition in the industry as a result, which naturally drove the salaries down. It's also not exactly glorious work either, as you're not exactly diving in pristine corals and sea beds with fantastic views, but usually murky oil drilling platforms in the middle of nowhere, with nothing but the barnacle-encrusted struts of the platform as your scenery. More inherent hazard-risks as well, seeing you usually end up diving much deeper than recreational depths. Again, if you enjoy the experience well enough, it's supposedly not a bad gig. But once more it's about job satisfaction trumping the cons.

Caterpillar. If you meant more specifically what kind you'll need to give a location.

Though taking a stab in the dark I'd guess mourning cloak butterfly

Can someone with a dog help me diagnose this

I don't want to blow this out of proportion if it's something small that'll go away on its on

I just noticed this on my dog and I'm not sure if it's something that should be checked out asap

I just noticed this on her. Probably been there for maybe 2 days. She doesn't seem bothered by it.

Thanks

I asked /b/ and someone said it might be a cyst. Think so?

Well top differentials without knowing the history of the lesion or dog

1. Cancer, cancer. (It's definitely cancer especially if it's an older dog)
...
10. Infection
11. Foreign body

Take it to the vet, moron.

So, TL;DR:Old man dying, lost his pumpkin, wants to make sure his cat is taken care of.

Cat = unsure of breed, approx 8 years old (i think?) female, name vanessa, chipped and fixed and all that, Has some scabs from bugs that bit it and the other 20 cats dude was hoarding, but have not seen any signs of bugs. trying to help it with scabs that it can't reach.

Had it about a week or so now

I have never had a pet before, but this cat seems to like me, does typical cat shit like molests my computer desk and sleeps in my chair/laundry hamper.

Tried playing with it but it likes to scratch, so bought some rolling noise balls, doesn't like them at all, hasn't touched them.
It did seem to attack its old collar after i got it a new one however so i think if i ever get/make a cat condo that i will put a bunch of ropes on it for it to play with.

finally are beds or tents more well recieved by cats?

Far as i can tell it just needs time to heal a good bath and somewhere it can sleep and hide.

I have no idea how to cat owner.

Cats will usually have a few different sleeping areas, both low down and high up. If you can, try provide space for her higher up, say on a shelf. She'll probably figure out somewhere herself in time. My cat loves the top of my wardrobe.

Regarding toys too, a variety is better! There's no need to spend money. A bit of string weighted ont he bottom works. So does scrunching up a piece of paper to throw around. I've used scrunched up balls of paper for my cat since he was a kitten, he now comes running when he hears paper crinkling.

Make sure she is wormed and up to date with vaccinations and flea treatment. If she does still have some bugs on her, that should sort it out. And don't forget to register the microchip details to your house!

I'm sure you'll do good OP,

This is the truth.
>>
>>2076582
Before splurging on the cat toys, bet, tents, etc. give her some time to get adjusted to your home. She needs to find her own "safe areas" in your home. Put a blanket down in those areas and see if she prefers to sleep curled up on the blanket. If so then she will most like a cat bed with her blanket. Try not to let her establish her safe area under your bed. Put up a barrier if necessary. It's not very safe for her, and it makes it harder for you to get her when you need to take her to the vet.

Crassula arborescens, maybe. I don't know, I fucking hate Crassulas. Anyway, looks like it could use more sun, a less roomy pot with substrate that drains better, and heavy pruning.

This bird has started coming around my place terrorizing squirrels. I think it's a hawk but not sure.

>>2076495
Yes it's a hawk.
Where are you in the world? Don't need a city, just a state/country/region. Looks like a red tail hawk but that pic is a little blurry. I only say redtail because there's a lot around where I live, and that looks like one.
>>
oh and don't mess with the poor thing for "terrorizing" squirrels. Red tails are based. Cute as fuck too, got to hold one once.
>>
Look kinda like red shouldered. Pic too blurry, might be red tail.

I don't understand what sound you're referring to. I hear "hee hee hee" 8 seconds in, and some mouthbreathing through the rest of the video, and some whispering.

Put it all together and it sounds like you've got goblins in your attic OP
>>
>>2076568
You seriously don't hear the loud guttural howls throughout the video?

Turn your sound up, that might help.

I am the proud owner of a three month old Jackabee named Doodle, who has had breathing problems since she came home with me, though the vet simply attributes those to the beagle in her as it's quiet wheezing that only comes out while she sleeps, and since I've completely scrubbed the rooms she most frequents clean of any and all mold that could have been the culprit to her ailment, it has all but disappeared.. however it seems out of the clear blue sky a fatty tumor has appeared on her hip.
Now, I know from having many other dogs in my life this is more often than not a completely benign occurrence, but at her age it seems odd.
And what worries me more than anything else is the fact that two sisters from her litter have had to be put down due to cancer already.

I have already called the vet and explained the situation along with explaining the situation with her sisters.

So.. How worried should I be?
Can you guys calm me down? I'm an absolute mess. I've never had a dog that looks at me the way she does. I'm so terrified for my little girl.

Picture related : it's doodle in her bucket.

>>
Without tests you cannot say it is a fatty tumor. Take her to the vet so you can find out what it actually is.

That's just my assumption based on my familiarity with them and knowing they can be pulled away from the position they're in, as is the case with the growth on her hip.

Hopefully the vet returns my call as quickly as possible tomorrow. Though, I'm just happy her demeanor has changed in no way whatsoever.
So that eases the anxiety.

Doodle - in the only position she will allow herself, or I to nap in.

Anyone have any experience or know anyone with experience with these guys? I've been trying to get my hands on a 2.1 or 3.1 group of viper boas for a while, but I'm told they can be difficult to breed.

cute sneks anon, good luck with this thread.
>>
The lab I work in had one for years, but it died a few months back. It was always rather lethargic and would just sit in its water bowl all the time, though that could be because it was old. It was a badass looking snake though, and never seemed to mind handling.

It'll take at least a year for most of those to be covered, and make it not ugly. Then it will be an acceptable 8/10
