I have a bookshelf in my room that I don't use 3-4 shelves on and I've been thinking about getting a snake for awhile now. So here's what I'm proposing.

Each little "Cubicle" in this thing is about 36in wide,12in tall, and 12in deep.
If I were to add vents and access ports to each shelf do you think I could link all 3 shelves together with some clear tubing (and rough up the inside for snake to have traction) and have each of them have a different purpose (top is hot for basking, middle has the hide and some other general snake things and the bottom has the water and other snake stuff in it) do you think the snake would figure this out? Or should I just buy a basic snake Inclosure and spend $200?

I should also note that I am only looking to house a cornsnake in it.

>>
>>2030914
what meme?

My puppy wakes at 5 am every moving and barks up a storm until he is let out of the crate.

I tried ignoring him, but he will go on for more than 45 minutes (that's when I break down and let him out).

I take him outside to potty, and he does pee, but it doesn't seem like it was urgent.

What do I do to make him wake later and also not bark like crazy to get out? He's a 12 week old Labrador by the way.

Throw something at the crate. Yell at him. If he doesn't shut up, open crate door, force him into a corner and stand over him and dominate him. If he still won't shut up, bite his ear as hard as you need to.
>>
>>2029055
make sure you're down on all fours while doing any of these so you're at eye level with him, he'll know you mean business that way

>you shouldn't get a cat because it doesn't do what dogs do

why do people insist on arguing this?

If I want a pet that does stuff a dog does, I'd get a dog.

Because they don't like things that, on a more consistent basis, are cuter. There's only one ugly looking cat but hundreds of ugly looking dogs.
>>
>>2025537
why have a cat tho? shit undomesticated animal, shits indoors, mean as fuck, useless, stinky, does horrendous damage to wild life, hates you...
>>
>>2025551

>hates you

Why do people think this? Cats show affection differently than dogs do, that's all.

What is /an/'s stance on Feral Cat Shelters and people feeding feral cats and strays?

>>
Euthenize them. The cats, too.
>>
Feral cats are awful.
Kill them all.
Control breeding of tame cats with neutering.
Less feral cats.
>>
All cats outdoors should be euthenized without exceptions, it's the only way to get rid of ferals.

otherwise all missing ferals will just be replaced by people their outdoor cats, they're often not fixed.

Weird things your pets do that you find endearing?

>Have two cats and a dog
>Younger cat likes when people sit down on the floor with him
>If you sit down with him he'll come over and rub against you while circling you and purring, will complete several rotations of this sometimes switching directions

>Older cat enjoys being held
>that's an understatement, he's a massive baby
>oh you're sitting in a chair? On your lap
>oh, you're walking around? No pick me up
>you're asleep? Screw that I'm curling up next to your hand so you can pet me

>Dog is part shepherd
>if there are children in the house she will herd them back into the play room
>doesn't matter what they're doing, the moment they leave she gently pushes them right back into the play room and stays there with them unless prompted to leave

They're all great animals and they get along just fine. My dog does try to herd the cats but they generally just jump to places she can't reach them if they don't want to deal with it.

Pic related: the white and tabby is the older cat, the all tabby is the younger cat. We think our dog is aus shepherd (mother was aus) and St. Bernard but we're not 100% sure (shelter didn't know).

Oh thanks! Yeah she's great; she's actually a lot fluffier than she was as a pup, but thank you for the compliment

My dog loves laying in the snow. Like when she is outside while I'm shoveling she barks and hops around. It's so cute and its funny when I see her fluffy body plop down into the snow

Hello /an/. I recently bought this for my desk at work. I go back on Monday so I'd like to get some suggestions on what kind of fish to put in it. I plan on buying the fish tomorrow if possible.

I just had to put a robin that flew into my window out of its misery. This is the first time I've taken the life of an animal intentionally that wasn't a bug or through fishing.

God I feel like shit right now.

Maybe my story will make you feel less shit.

I had to let a cat suffer today. She was brought in as a stray, something terrible happened to her. Obviously one leg is broken, but she can't use her whole hind end. At first I assumed nerve damage or paralyzed which doesn't hurt much. But this cat was shaking continuously, howling and reaching out to people as they walked by for help. We laid her down in a cage and there is something visually wrong with here bottom half. It sank and bulged in places it shouldn't. The cat shit itself, when I cleaned it I noticed it was more blood and fleshy chunks than shit. And the fucking crying and howling at the top of it's lungs, the shaking. I tried to comfort her for a while, and noticed she was purring and cleaning herself when she wasn't howling in pain (both are behaviors cats do to calm themselves after being injured). I called my manager because we need permission from her to euthanize anything, and my manager would need to call a vet in anyway as the last one had left. But she denied, told me to wait until tomorrow. I guess that's fine for her, she doesn't have to stay up at night thinking about it. It's horrible when you want to kill something so bad, just because that's how much it's suffering, and can't

Sorry, let me elaborate. There are plenty of dogs in shelters that need homes. Over the next few months you shouldn't have a shortage to choose from; people will start dumping their Christmas puppies, sadly.

What kind of dog were you thinking about getting, OP?

So I seem to have gotten a raccoon in my basement and while I'm dealing with it tomorrow i notice that he's chewing underneath the kitchen he seems to have taken some of the insulation but I'm worried that he's going to get into the rest of the house from chewing under the kitchen. If I didn't have to go to work this would have been resolved sooner but this is becoming an issue as the chewing has gotten really bad today. Just wondering if he can chew through a solid wood floor.

Light a fire inside of your basement, be it a controlled one, that should get him going a lot faster, and then you could find out.
>>
>>2030734
I was asking to find out if I could go to sleep today. I'll probably just stay the fuck up and deal with if broke through. I'm not sure if he can get out or not. He got in because of broken window. Now he's trying to open the basement door and I sort of want to see i letting him out would do the trick but he might just get in again before I can fix the window.
>>
>>2030757
Just let him out, it sounds like he's stuck and is just trying to leave.

My elderly PersianxRagdoll cat went missing for 4 days, i found him under someones hedge yesterday afternoon. Since having him home he wont eat and he barely drinks any water.
Last night he projectile vomited all over my bed, the floor and some of the wall and i have since noticed that he has urine constantly leaking from his privates.
He's in a bad way.

But here is the clincher, i recently got ill and had to give up work, surviving on welfare and i wish i had the money to try fix anything wrong but, i just don't.
My mother says i should just let him sit and wait for him to get better but he is suffering.
I feel its the best thing to do is get him put down even though i don't want to part from him.

I need guidance.

You are in a difficult place.
You should do what is in the best interest of the cat.
Defiantly consult with the local humane society to see if any help is available.
The end of a life is always a sad difficult thing to experience.
I wish you the best.
>>
>>2030041
I just know i have no money and vets don't let you make weekly payment plans. He's sitting there licking himself constantly trying to clean the urine up. Its no way for a gentleman to live.
I wish more than anything i could make him better and not have to kill him.
