Recently I bought a pregnant mouse from PetCo as a mistake, but I decided to keep her. She was building her nest the night before she gave birth to a litter of 3 or 5. However, she ate 1-3 of her children on the first day but continued to nurse the other two. This morning when I woke up, I saw she was nursing them and keeping them warm, 15 minutes later I saw she devoured them. The other weird thing is the fact that she immediately continued to build her nest after she killed the last of her children.
Any idea why she ate them and continued to build?...

Maybe she was stressed? If she was a first time mother this is more likely as well. Even if you didn't bother her it still might have stressed her out

Take him to a vet, there are no resident veterinarians on /an/. All responses you will get will be to take him to the vet. We get it, you're broke, your dog is old, you live with your parents, there's no vets for a million miles. Just get it over with and make an appointment for your nearest vet.

Because they "look ugly" and hang out near dead things.
But yeah, they don't deserve the hate they get. They clean up the environment very well and help prevent disease, like you said. But people will always hate them because they aren't "beautiful" or "graceful" like hawks, eagles or falcons and eat rotting corpses. I'm sure that makes people imagine them as being dirty or something.
Which the graceful part is bullshit anyway, the turkey vultures around where I live are some of the most graceful fliers I've ever...

Hey /an/, I need some help making a decision.
A former co-worker found this little guy in a Wal-Mart parking lot last week, and although she loves him, he doesn't seem to get along with her dog and so she's trying to find a new home for him.
I already have one cat who I adopted a few years ago from an acquaintance who was moving into a new apartment where they didn't allow pets. My wife and I don't make a ton of money, but we make enough to live comfortably in our three-room apartment and care for our existing pet properly.

For one thing make sure the cats have something between them when they meet. Like the new cat in a carrier of some sort or let them smell each other through a door. Having the new cat all of a sudden be in your cat's territory is a fight waiting to happen.
Is your cat up to date on all their vaccines? If not, do not bring that other cat around your cat until one or both of them are. You don't need this new cat giving your feline herpies

Our cat is an exclusively indoor cat, so she doesn't have any vaccines to prevent against risks associated with being outdoors.
The new cat doesn't have a carrier, but is apparently fine with car rides, so the co-worker was planning on getting him here that way. Do you think that we should put him in our cat's carrier while he's still in the hallway before bringing him into our apartment, or would that be weird?

These cactus identification sites are really hard to navigate, and so many of them look so similar. I saw something called 'Coryphantha pusilliflora' which looks kinda like the middle one, but I'm still pretty sure it's wrong.

Hyenas are the best animal because they are so fucking boss that even the chicks have dicks.
Hyenas are cool, especially spotted hyenas. When you think of predators, you usually think of wolves and big cats but these motherfuckers came from cat-like weasely motherfuckers. They are basically civets and mongoose that took a sharp canine turn .
