sea levels are still rising.
that can only be happening if water is warming or continents are sinking.

guess which one is more likely?

While they are spreading, they are also thinning. I'm not doing your homework for you, so Google it.

Are lizards rational human phobias, learned human phobias, or are they a common phobia at all?. (what about snakes and spiders)

Lizards aren't.

Snakes are (people fear the fangs)
Spiders are definitely.

Kids that get to see snakes up close, as in pets or being shown the snakes by others who keep them as pets, are quite alright with the whole thing and don't seem to have any instinctual fear.

However, kids who have had no contact with snakes of any kind, dangerous or safe, do seem to develop a phobia, or at least a bias, by their teens. I blame media for that.

Today in biology class, while the professor was talking about how evolution is a slow gradual process over thousands or even millions of years, I pointed out that we can observe tadpoles (fish) evolving into frogs (amphibians).

The professor just stared at me like I blew her freakin' mind. I think I know what I'm writing my dissertation on.

I think that piercing your pet was already determined to be animal abuse after the "goth kittens" thing, but I could be wrong.

Lawfulness aside, it's fucking dumb to do to your pet. Piercings get infected easily, they hurt (some more than others, depending on where you pierce), and they have no benefits except for the people who see it as a big red flag, and consequently avoid you.

Any advice for caring for an apple tree? My grandpa owns an orchard but he won't give any advice.

What a prick.

Sorry I don't have any advice for you... I remember having an apple tree in our front yard as a kid but I don't know what--if anything--my parents did in specific to take care of it. I think it was pretty self-sufficient if I remember correctly.

This is a jackfruit. You can find them at most Chinese grocery stores. They taste like rubber pineapples filled with thin honey, with a weird "Chinese snakeoil" after taste which I suspect has more to do with how they're stored than anything else.

Rambutan. It's a fruit from Thailand. Even if it looks like a weird abyssal creature, it's actually pretty good and very sweet.

How's autumn treating you guys? What is there to do with bonsai this time of year?

Meanwhile:
>mum goes to let dog out
>"oh nooo"
>what?
>"anon, your plant thingy's fallen over!"
>oh noooooo
>mini greenhouse on ground with a broken pane
>plant pot soil dumped onto garden path
>baby plant clinging sadly to some soil
>bonsai on ground
>fallen out of its pot
>bonsai, pot and tray are seemingly undamaged
Fuuucking hell. I popped it back in its pot and brought it inside but it's probably stressed as shit now, right? There'd been no new growth for a while but I'd kept it outside to get all the light it can in these gloomy days and now this.

it shouldn't matter too much during this time of the year, the sap stream isn't flowing much anyway.

Use this thread to ask about rare breeds, advocate for rare breeds, and recommend breeders to get rare breeds from.

I am desperately in love with the Swedish elkhound (Jämthund) only problem is that I live in America and cannot find any puppies for sale. I will be forever in debt to the anon that helps me.

1. Always get at least two. They are very social animals.
2. They need a good bunch of space 24/7, keeping them in a cage while letting them run around 2 hours a day doesn't cut it. You should aim for a 4sqm pen for two
3. Don't buy any of the food stores sell. It's cheap, unhealthy trash that leads to a lot of issues in the long term. They need hay available all the time, and then give them two times a day veggies/fruit/weeds/herbs. Their diet should be like 80% hay/weeds, 15% veggies, 5% fruit
>>
>>1989678

I hear they chew on wires. I have a lot of live wires laying around not to mention a shitload of expensive electronics. I suppose I'm going to have to get rid of them all?
>>
>>1989682
They chew on everything. Wooden doors, tables, furniture, the walls(!) whatever they have access to.

Chickadees are adorable, and they're always the first bird to stop caring that I'm nearby when I'm out in the yard.

That said, crows are smart little fucks, and they come in close second just for that.

Legless Lizards, they are so charming.

Can it be a pet?
>>
>>1997334
I had one for a while because I disturbed it during the winter, they're louzy pets.
>>
>>1997334
Is that a slow worm? I used to keep them as a kid had no idea they were critically endangered, I did my part tho, fattened them up. I saw one on my patio a couple days ago, it was slow as shit so I warmed it up with my hands and put it under my shed

I've never neutered any of my pets and I probably never will. I've owned dozens of different cats and dogs and I've never had any issues with them. The idea of removing a guy's junk, whether it's a dog or a human, makes my skin crawl. It's just not right.

What, your dog a little too aggressive? You afraid of him getting the other dogs pregnant? It's probably a stretch to compare them to humans, but if your kid is acting a little too hyper in the classroom you don't lobotomize him.

Can someone explain to me how neutering a pet ISN'T a form of animal cruelty?

I love this, its spot on:

>if your kid is acting a little too hyper in the classroom you don't lobotomize him.

Here here anon. Neutering only serves to make animal companionship accessible to the irresponsible and the lazy.

Its barbaric.
>>
It is but it's the most affective way to reduce the population of strays. Maybe one day when it's no longer a problem pets will have vasectomies and tubes tied
>>
>>1995672

You can already have these procedures done to leave your pet hormonally intact.
