That's not how it works. Like, at allllllllll. For starters, there is no registration. Secondly, "emotional support animal" and "service dog" are as different as night and day. The laws are completely different regarding each.

Long story short, she can most certainly get her ass or the dog's ass kicked out if the landlord had any sort of knowledge about this.
Even service dogs can be dragged into court and made to prove that they are actually service dogs where necessary. People think that "Oh, you're not allowed to ask me about my dog" is some sort of universal law. It's not. You can be removed from planes, you can be kicked out of your apartment for not paying their deposit, you can be denied service in a restaurant if your dog is causing a disturbance. If the owner disagrees, it can go to court, and a judge will decide.
The only reason people say not to ask or challenge it, is because it's easier not to. Don't think it's magical immunity.
