On my way back home from school, I found an alive bird on the floor, desperately trying to fly. I quickly run home and grab some paper and pick it up noticing it's leg is broke. How do I take care of this bird until we take it to a vet

Put it somewhere dark and quiet or it could die from stress.

Try to call a wildlife rehab near you.

Don't be surprised if it doesn't make it, it could have been hit and has internal injuries.
>>
it's probably not going to make it
>>
>>2135798
Put it in a dark box, poke holes in it, it's definitely stressed as fuck. It might die on you unrelated to its injury just because it's freaking out.

3 MB,
I noticed these spots on my cat's teeth. He has it on both his right and left back teeth. I'll post another picture of the other side too.

We've scheduled a vet appointment. In the meantime, anyone have any idea what this could be?

The kitty in question. He is an otherwise healthy 3 year old indoor cat (who takes walks on a leash) and shows no sign of pain.

Ok so I got a new guinea pig today, he's like 2-3 months old. The one I already have is this big fat fuck, and when I introduced them, the big one kept chasing the little one and doing growling sounds and sitting on the little one. Should I be worried? Will they ever be piggy bros?

You should be worried. Male guineas can fight and kill each other, improbable as it seems, and the risk will increase as the younger one matures. But it depends on the individuals and the 'piggy bros' scenario is more likely. Keep an eye on it and have a plan if you need to separate them.

Whats /an/ opinion on MONSTER BUG WARS!

Cheesy, stupid, melodramatic, cool?

I myself can't stand the sound effects, but i still watch it (there's a goat sound effect here, what the fuck?)

2 MB,
I noticed this bird in my garden just sitting there and not moving at all as I walked by. I came back later and it was still there so I put it in a box out of the cold wind.

It's barely responsive at all and won't open its eyes but it moves about a little from time to time and I can see it breathing. I don't know anything about birds so I couldn't begin to guess what's wrong. I've left it for a few minutes and all its done is move further into the corner.

What should I do? Nearest vet is a half hour drive away.

Sorry if this...

Anybody have to put up with red-winged blackbirds lately? I call them edgebirds. It's their breeding season right now and they don't give a single fuck. They'll try to bully blue herons and egrets just to make a point.

I noticed one of these little crackheads keeping pace me over the top of my head when I went for a run 'round the lake yesterday afternoon, and I couldn't tell if it was coincidence or not

Went back to run the same course today to confirm it, and lo and behold, the black & red avenger appeared yet again. I ran back across...

Child gets into Gorilla exhibit at Cincinnati Zoo, Zoo employees fatally shoot 17 year old Western Lowland Gorilla that was "dragging the child around"

Anyone have more footage? Did Zoo employees make the right decision? Are the parents fucking retarded or does this zoo need better preventative measures for getting into exhibits

Is it bad I wish we could let Darwinism take the wheel and just let these situations go without shooting the animal?
>>
>>2132850
Is it, especially with a child. Everyone is dumb as a child.

I wonder if would have shot it if it was a female gorilla.
>>
>>2132850
The animal's already in a cage being fed by people, so I don't think "letting things go as they may" really means much anymore.

91 KB,
Are those domesticated Russian foxes really domesticated?

I've heard some people say no because domestication takes thousands of millions of years, and other people say yes because the reason other animals took so long to be domesticated is because we didn't know a damn thing about domesticating animals, but now we know about how it works and genetics so the process can be shortened considerably

Even if these foxes aren't domesticated, is it theoretically possible to domesticate a wild animal in under a thousand years? A hundred years?

They're domesticated. They've been selectively bred for many generations to be friendly. That's all you really need to do to domesticate animals. Take a large population of whatever and only breed the ones that are curious, friendly and that don't show fear and aren't violent to people. Ta da.
>>
>>2132973
This. Domesticated =/= good pet or acts just like a dog though.
