Made my first arraignment of plants. Just a mix of succulents and cacti from Home Depot. Bretty good, or did I fuck up? Specifically, is it too over crowded? I may be wrong, but I heard you can plant a lot in a small area.
Anyway, post your planters.
>>2068759
looks fine
there's a pervasive pink coloring on the plants which is freaking me out tho
>>2068763
It's from the fake flowers every cactus at Home Depot has glued on top. I took them off, but there's still some coloration left.
I have no idea why they do that. Literally every cactus at these shitty fake flowers glued to the top.
>>2068769
I've emailed them about it, they say they sell better that way.
I'd be a big fan of putting those colored fake flowers on some cholla and selling that to whoever likes that crap. (Or if there's a better cactus at fucking your shit up, that'd be good too.)
what is the most adorable animal in your country?
this is an Ezo-momonga in Hokkaido, Japan
European robin.
>starting with momongas
how does any other animal compete?

wow cute ^o^
Can we have a thread for sharing pictures and/or stories of special animals? By special I mean disabled.
>>2064730
Just curious if there's a story behind that that doesn't require a reverse image search? :3
>>2064735
Not that I know of.
>be male angler fish
>be tiny as fuck, can't see anything this deep in the ocean
>smell something nice
>turns out it's the pheromones of a female, which are ugly as sin and just plain horrifying
>still, it's my only chance to avoid being eaten
>bite into her to latch on
>eventually, my mouth fuses to her body, so i can never let goComment too long. Click here to view the full text.

I dunno, if we're going to pretend angler fish suffer, can I pretend dandelions do too? I mean they've got a pretty rough life.

Pshht
Praying mantis gets fucked after sex, pretty brutal
Anyone here own a fennec? What's it like. or any fox. I've read this can be done and the best candidates are the Silver, Red, and Fennec.

That screeching they do is incredibly loud too. They do it constantly when they're excited.
So it looks like some asshole poisoned the cat that lives in my store. She looked groggy, was drooling a lot, and there was some blood on her tongue.
I just left her at the vet, any other pro-tips?
>>2077217
if it was intentional, whoever did it will try and do it again until she's dead. do something to prevent it.

Intelligent reading comprehension

What kind of store is it?
My chinchilla is clearly not a domesticated animal. How can I set him free when he seeks to escape his cage (no matter how large) but he would doubtlessly die in the harsh Utahn climate? I mean, shit, is there like a chinchilla refuge?
Have some dickbutts
You can't release non domestic animals like that in the first place.
Also, chinchillas are legitimate domestic animals. If he's freaking out in the cage constantly, you're keeping him wrong somehow.
>>2076755
They need a lot of floor time (time outside of their cage, romping around in a chinchilla proof room or section off area) and they are extremely social animals and should have a chinchilla friend, or you could spend a ton of time with him and be his friend. They are not meant to stay in a cage 24/7
>>2076757
It's not that. It's that I can first instinct is to flee. He hasn't been abused and he lives in a fucking mansion as far as cages go. I don't expect him to be other than what he is but he always seems like he'd run as far away as possible if he could.
Why doesn't my housemates greyhound close his eyes or seem to enjoy having his ears scratched? Whenever he walks up to me for a pat he just keeps the same expression on his face.
>>2075165
Greyhounds are just very low-key doggos - they don't do the bouncing-around-with-exuberant-displays-of-affection things that other breeds do so much, they don't bark much and are pretty chill dogbros happy to lie-around most of the day. Suits some people, needier personalities should seek out clingier breeds.

Depends on the greyhounds, I've met a bunch that were like regular dogs. Those that were retired from racing though, a lot of them were basically robots. Kinda like retired hunting dogs.
Wonder what are police dogs like when they stop working.
My dog does that. She will get excited, paw at me to pet her and roll over for belly rubs but when you pet her, she's so blank and emotionless.

They are so cute~
I like it. But desu i would have been afraid to leave my doge to play with a cat. Might scratch his eyes even in play...
What the fuck did we do, /an/? Why is this allowed?
This is the first time I've looked at an allegedly healthy living thing and thought "that definitely should not exist."
ayy lmao puppers

Dogs make me realize that we probably aren't ready for eugenics.

dachshunds are pretty healthy when they're not BYB.

Discuss anything aquarium related here, including inhabitants, decor and issues.
Google is your friend.
Feel free to ask questions but know that there are a lot of resources out there that could answer your question a lot faster and accurately than /an/.
Make sure to include these things in your post before asking because we can't help you if we don't have the full picture:
-tank size
-parameters
-any and all inhabitants + how long you've...

The clam I was trying to save was a tridacna clam. Specifically a giant gigas clam. Don't confuse them with those burrowing labeled as "filter" clams that your think of. These guys need lots of strong lighting (no such thing as too much) and have the same requirements as SPS corals.
I only have one (a crocoe) in my tank so far (behind the corals if you look hard enough) Been with me since the begining the unmovable bastard he is. He literally squirted me more then twice during moves.
>>2076189
That big sps is in the way -_-.. lol, what is that, joe the coral?

Oooo tacky. Love it!
Post questions related to cats that don't deserve their own threads here.
>>2066485
I'll always wonder, When i was younger two cats never liked us but we would pick them up anyway and pat them.
Anyhow but the third cat loved us to the point were it wanted all this but the other cats didn't.

whats wrong with that dog

Thats a rabbit not a dog. Dogs don't have hands.
here is my dog
i adopted my cat "quiet" from the SPCA last week and her papers said she was a Himalayan but she doesn't have the pale fur or blue eyes
does anyone know what breed(s) she might be?
Just a cat.
Most cats aren't purebred nor are they any noticeable mix of pure breeds.
There's only about 3 different main body types in domestic cat breeds, not counting cat size, and then just lots of different colours. The body types aren't as distinguishable as dog body types, either.
