106 KB,
Mom just brought home 2 4-5 inch koi she bought presumably off a streetcorner in LA. How the hell do I house these things so that they dont die immediately

They're currently upstairs in a 10 gallon tank with a soon-to-be eaten ghost shrimp. We have a 50 gallon tank downstairs but that one has 15 or so mollie/platy in it

I live in a desert-y area so I dont know if i'll be able to find someone to hand these fish off to later when everyone has lost interest in them. The fuck do I do? We simply do have the space for a 300 gallon tank, let alone a pond

put a bunch of ice in a bag, stick the fish in there and throw it out. The ice will cause the fish to go hypothermic and then die painlessly. Then tell your mom to stop being an impulsive idiot
>>
>>2137159
Carps are extremely resistant to cold temperatures.
If you use this method chances are that they'll fall asleep and reawaken in your trash can.
>>
>>2137162

or it gets encased in ice, slips out of the trashcan while being loaded onto a truck and falls into a drainage pipe which leads into the ocean until it joins with a glacier, thousands of years later the glacier melts an the fish awakens in an exotic, future world filled with adventure

either way problem solved

hi, can anyone identify these mushrooms?
6 replies and 2 images submitted. Click here to view.

Most mushrooms in north america are poisonous and there are a large variety of species and they are often identified by location and physiology. The only mushroom in the americas that is both easy to id and safe to eat is a shaggymane, morels while easy to id are not safe to eat raw.
>>
Should have also noted depending on the age of the mushroom some can become toxic or cause problems when combined with alcohol

99 KB,
Hey /an/, I like to run on the trails a lot in the woods and I've seen a bear a few times over the last few weeks/months, I think it could possibly be the same one but I'm not sure.

One time I was only a few feet away from it without realizing it before it jolted back from me. It seems pretty passive but I'm really nervous to run on the trails now. Should I stop? How Dangerous are these guys? Any personal bear encounters?

Very dangerous, they hold you hostage for salmons.
>>
>>2136505
statistically you're way more likely to be killed by bees or lightning.

but black bears aren't to be fucked with. They do kill people pretty much every year. If I were you I'd buy some bear mace and carry it religiously just in case.

Personally my only up-close bear encounter was three cubs that kept stealing our sandwiches on a picnic when I was a kid. The weren't violent but they were definitely scary because they were hungry and fearless.
>>
They're chicken shits. If you scream at them sort of loud, they get spooked and book it for the woods.
When I lived in the mountains, they'd come and knock over my garbage cans all the fucking time. My dad's medium-sized dog was capable of scaring them up trees without getting his shit wrecked.

How do I stop my dog from collecting snails?
She is let out each night before bed to do her business and is allowed out to play in the garden during the day. I do try to supervise her but she's a sneaky little bugger and we have two dogs. Every now and again I will catch her trotting along with one in her mouth heading towards her bed and I take it off her and throw it into newt doors garden.
I just emptied her crate and shook out her bedding to find like a dozen snails. She's clearly been storing them as theres no way for them to get in on their own and I really...

Found a poor baby bird outside my front-yard, pretty much identical to one in pic, bleeding, 3 bites on him and he was shaking. put him in a little aluminium tray lined with tissues and put a heat pack under it to keep him warm. Drive with my brother to a vet, hand him over the counter. They are going to call me and tell whether he will survive or not. Waiting by the phone... Why do i feel so sad about this.
Life is beautiful people, it really is.
Godspeed Leroy

Birds with bites (usually cat bites) very rarely survive. This is true even after heavy rounds of antibiotics are used.
>>

Poor little thing, why's that btw? is it to do with bacteria or something?

So I have two foster newborn kittens that my foster manager conned me into taking. I was supposed to take them just for the day but now I'm in it until they find another suitable foster.

They were brought in by a women who was feeding them with an eyedropper for 2 days. Then the foster manager fed the kittens 9mls of food each and told me they should probably do more. I have been feeding anywhere from 2mls (they would not eat for me at first) and now 4mls every two hours. I was told they were at least a week old, but neither have ears/eyes open, one still had its umbilical cord, and the other I got to take his 'afterbirth' shit. So they are younger than a week old I'd say. I have also found out they should be underfed as opposed to overfed, but I don't have a proper way to weigh them currently. I think 9mls was way too much formula for one sitting though, let alone more

S my problem is the kittens are absolutely restless after feeding and bathroom stimulation, and I don't know how to make them feel better. I'm worried they have gas and I can't seem to get them to pass it. They will e at the vet tomorrow morning but no sooner than that. I'm scared to feed them if they have a blockage or something. Or is the activity and belly bulge normal?

Pic related, the bigger bellied of the two.

You people try to rehabilitate nature's rejects?

In my expert opinion, they need 1(one) dose of sedimentary rock delivered craniumly.
>>
It could be bloating after overfeeding, let them rest.
If your super worried puree some prunes and mix a bit in too the formula, laxitives will clear up any blockage
>>
You need to start wiping their asses with a warm, wet cloth. They need to poop. Desperately. They will die if they don't. The only way to get a kitten to poop at that young of an age is to mimic some mamma cat tongue action. You're going to have to do this a few times a day until they can start pooping on their own.

Freshwater fishingfag here. Favorite spot is the pond in my parents neighborhood. Coastal Virginia. Some guy stocked it with all kinds of neat stuff like 20 years ago and it is thriving.

Nothing better than taking a bucket of shiners over there and catching fish from the comfort of the back yard.

Largemouth, black crappie, bowfin, yellow perch, white perch, sunfish, gray cats... my dad even pulled a nice nice chain pickerel just like op pic out of there once. Good fucking times.

That means she's low on the pecking order. Probably on the bottom to be honest. No joking she's being submissive because thats what gets the other hens from bullying her as much. She's just acting as if you're another hen higher on the pecking order.

1. >old woman

Snakes "big enough" to "eat humans" (which I'll go ahead and point out has NEVER FUCKING BEEN DOCUMENTED TO HAPPEN EVEN ONCE) are going to be African/Indian Rock pythons, Burmese pythons, reticulated pythons, and green or yellow anacondas. Not a single one of which can be handled or lifted without extreme difficulty from a single fit human, much less a little old lady. They will weigh upwards of...

2 MB,
I'm moving and have some questions about whether to take my cat, Erdos, or not.

Last year some dick like 4 or 5 blocks away moved and left their cats (6 I think) with an open large bag of dry food to fend for themselves. One found its way into the trailer in the backyard that I was living in, so I named it Erdos ( after the mathematician noted for randomly showing up to stay on his peers doorsteps) and built a cat door for it and left food out for it and it hung out with me a lot and really seemed to like me but would sometimes not show up for a week.

I lost...

I have never had a problem with turning an outdoor cat not an I door. The first night or two yeah it tends to be terrible but give them attention, care, and it should be no issue. Honestly the first night is the worst buy after converting five of them, I've had no issue after the first one or two days.
>>
>>2137900
How 'outdoor' were they? This is basically a stray that adopted me.

Even before moving from the trailer he moved into hen it wasn't serious winter (by which I mean northern plains -15 below before windchill) its not unusual to go a week or two without seeing him - and I'm only assuming he will use a litter box (he did poop inside once, the first week I had him when I accidentally locked him in for 15 hours - I built a ramp to an open window that very night)

I also think, that after...

Is it difficult to train a, say, 2 year old outdoor cat to use a litter box or will it be more of less natural?
