The mockingbird in my backyard would *perfectly* mimic the audio crosswalk signals for the street behind my house. Timing and everything. The only hint it was the bird was that it wouldn't go the full 20 seconds, and would sometimes randomly switch to generic bird tweetery midway.

So long as the enclosure is adequately large and has both indoor and outdoor sections as well as spots for gorillas to hang out in privacy, there is not problem with keeping western lowlands gorillas in zoos.

I had to put down my 10 year old cat a little while ago and my vet said something interesting to me that made me question a few things about getting cats fixed.
He ended up having kidney faliure and i had to put him down because the cost of keeping him alive for another year or two was huge.
It was hard to decide to do.
When i asked the vet "how does a cat get kidney failure?" and she told me it is very common in male cats who get neutered and that neutering them causes mineral buildups and all this other stuff that causes weakness in the kidneys.

Each have pros and cons.
The long of it short is I love to have both. My two dogs and my two cats enrich my life in a different way, and I wouldn't want to have one without the other. Both are great pets... it just depends on what you are looking for.

What do you guys think of the idea of implementing "Exotic Pet Licenses" in the US. These would be required to own certain pets like iguanas, monkeys, large birds, venomous snakes, large cats, bears, ect. You would need to show that you have a license before being aloud to legally purchase any animal classified as exotic. Their could also be a sort of tier system to the license. So for instance, if I want to own a Tiger, I would need a tier 5 license which would require things such as a home inspection and mental health checks, while a tier 1 license would be needed...

Licenses are the antithesis of liberty and a free society. The state now decides what, how, to what degree, and why you're allowed to own anything to everything.
I know you mean well, but you cannot legislate and regulate personal responsibility. So don't try.
Against it, just because such a system would never ever work and it'd just end up making the animals pretty much impossible to get, regardless of how ready you are from them.

No, you'll be fine. The toxicity of rattlesnake venom is heavily exaggerated. If you were a small child, then you'd definitely want to go to see a doctor, but as a grown adult you might experience some slight discomfort at most as the venom dilutes through your bloodstream.
