My brother's cat had kittens
Me and my younger brother and sister visited his house to play with them. They were so cute

Today we were going to go again, but my brother calls, and tells me that the mother literally bit one of the kittens' neck, and then proceeded to eating her own child.

What the fuck.

I am actually sick to the stomach from hearing that. I googled and it's apparently quite normal. Sometimes mother cat might just decide to starve one of her own children, and refuse to feed it, till it dies.
Fucking hell

Just how emotional can animals get? My cat has gotten really attached to me, to the point where I can't leave the house for any reason before she starts calling for me. My parents say she'll sit by the door and "howl" for me. Some nights I stay with my bf, so maybe she's worried I won't return? She was a stray that was abandoned due to an owner's death so I figure that might have something to do it, but I didn't even know cats were capable such emotion or even attachment. She refuses to leave my side, it's quite dog-like. Is this...

Cats are extremely loyal reatures to the point where their behavior to others looks arrogant as fuck. It's just that their loyalty comes out from respect for the said person. I have even seen cases where for housewives their cats got dead birds and/or rats as a token to help around while making meals.
Hell, for example my cat tends to do everything with regardless of what I do. I start eating anything, so does he. I go to bathroom, so does he to his own.
The only thing he doesn't seem to understand is mathematics.

I own a very tiny female cat, she was the least liked of the litter so I picked her.
She's fully grown now despite looking like a 4-6 moth old cat, was fixed before reaching puberty and is indoors.
I cannot put in words how much this cat loves me. It is not a matter of being pet or not, she likes to lean against me as much as possible, every single night we sleep either cuddling or with her stretched out around my head or neck.
She greets me when I come home with a short sweet mew and blink, kneads me as much as she can.
She developed her way of getting my attention...

One of my cats will only let me touch him. If any other person touches him, he will lash out at them. I adopted him 3 years ago. I suspect he was just abused and doesn't trust anyone. My other cat sleeps all night with me in the bed, and will cry if she can't figure out where I went in the house.

Cats are incredibly affectionate and loyal. It's just the way they show affection is very understated compared to dogs, and some of their other behaviors give them the aloof arrogance that makes many people who don't understand cat body language associate with them.

there's a really attractive girl in my class that wrote an amazing argumentative essay on why cats should be kept indoors or supervised, had over 20 reputable academic sources and everything

how do I ask her for a copy of it without sounding like a total sperglord?

How the fuck do I get my dog to listen to me outside? Inside he does great, and will usually respond within three commands. He does sit great, shake, stand, down, leave it, watch me, stay... he does all the basics.

But outside he just doesn't give a fuck. I've tried treats. I've tried being a goofball with a toy he likes. I've tried saying his name and commands he knows when he is inside. If I yell and get upset it will get his attention, but I know that is counterproductive.

I love him to pieces, but I get so upset when we are out on walks...

Start with a group obedience class, work toward getting his CGC. If he still has issues work one-on-one with a professional. You are lacking a lot of training experience, this will help.
>>
>>2118885
I tried a professional one-on-one trainer once. It didn't really help him. I have taught him more on not pulling than I did with the trainer.

I don't want to sound cocky, but I don't know what a trainer would do.
>>
>>2118914
maybe try a different trainer then? they can be pretty different

So I found a mouse nest this morning, full of like 6 baby mice, in my sock drawer. Momma mouse bolted as I opened the drawer.

I came home from work with the intention of quickly opening the drawer and trapping them all with a board over the top. When I tried, they were all gone. But as I took the other drawers out to clean them, I found them all again, under the dresser. Mom mouse again, bolted, this time with some of the babies clinging to her. 15min ago she tried to come back for the other two left in the nest, but she got spooked.

Again, I have a baby in the house.Aparently mice carry shitty disease. Baby > Mice.

>>2118778
I was gonna take them a couple miles away in the woods on my 4 wheeler and release them. Or dump them in my uncle's shed since there are already a billion mice there and he dont care.

Found a stray kitten. Didn't have the heart to just leave it there. Gave it some water and chopped up salami but it won't eat or drink. It meows, walks and has open eyes. It just hides but doesn't seem to scared, I can pet it, but still.
What do?
6 replies and 2 images submitted. Click here to view.
>>
It needs milk genius. Just go buy some at a pet store. It's kitten formula, it comes in a bottle.
>>
>>2118590
I know it's not good to give it regular milk so I gave it water. I just wanted to know if there's omething else to give it to before I can go to a pet store.
>>
>>2118586

Wet food might do the trick

If it's too small to have learned to drink water you need to buy milk formula and baby it

But it might just be a little scared. Leave it alone and maybe it will drink and eat while you are not watching

Recently, I got myself one of these gorgeus fuckers and everywhere I read, people agree that they absolutely love to play and I should give him plenty of toys to go crazy with, which I did.

He won't have any of it, though. He doesn't even look at them, and won't interact with absolutely anything that isn't food or the TV (which he loves for some reason). Am I doing something wrong? I've got a swing, one of those hard ropes that you can shape and another normal rope with a bell and some other shit in it.

Well, I do have an airsoft grenade launcher, maybe that'll catch his curiosity.
>>
>>2118580
Birds can be weird. Some birds like swings, some don't. Some birds like bells, some don't.

Get some different toys and try those out.

You also have to remember that the bird might not realize that these new things in the cage are toys. How long have they been in there? Just give the bird some time to get used to them, he might be scared or nervous but will grow more curious eventually.

I have a question.
So I saw this spider and picked it up but I didn't feel pain but my entire left hand's muscles tensed up until I blew the spider off.
What happened?
What kind of spider was it?
It was kind of light brown and small, like the size of a long ant.
