What the hell are these things? I found a bunch of them on some soccer goals, and hurt my hand on one of their little thorns. Any idea as to what they are?

I brought home a daschund and my yorkies always lived here. Basically the daschund wont bother the yorkie, but the yorkie tries to assert his dominance and then daschund will start to do the same and then bite.
But, other than that he pays him no mind.
Help me, how do i assert dominance between two male dogs(daschund is neutered, yorkie not) and have them stop fighting.

>Yorkie isn't neutered
Found your problem, OP
>>2122845
I thought about that being a problem but I figured theres a way around that
I made a cat balcony today!
They haven't been up in it yet, but I'm sure they'll love it.
>>2122629
Very cute! How much did it cost you to make that?
>>2122631
I spent $31.31 on the 4x8' sheet of 5/8" pressure treated plywood and that was it. My carpenter friend let me use some redwood scrap to box it in and he also had that fencing just lying around. Let me use his shop and his tools to build it, patiently answered all my questions, and helped me to install it.
So I spend $31.31 and I think I owe Travis at least 2 cases of beer for all his help lol

Hey /an/
I'm trying to adopt a Basenji, which is a particularly tough breed to track down. I am also open to younger Basenji mixes, but I'm not finding very many with petfinder.
What kind of methods/websites do you use to find dogs?
Breed club is your best bet:

They like never have any dogs.

I don't see any adoption stuff on here.
Do we know anything about animal's memories? When they get to be adults do they still remember being kittens or puppies? Has any study ever been done on this? People always say animals just think in the present and don't worry about the future or remember the past but how can anyone really know that? Clearly they have some memory because they remember the sound of cans of food opening or going to the parks or like this dog does, his favorite old spot to sleep. But can we even know how far back they can remember?
They have past memory, but they probably don't have the type of memory we do. Like they aren't going to remember dates, but they'll remember faces and probably smells.
My families old dog had a happy fit when my uncle came back home, and the last time she had seen him was 5 years prior during her puppy hood. She was never that friendly towards anyone else except the family, at least not right away.
My current dog also flipped out when we took her to a certain park where she got to run around off leash, and she hadn't been there in at least a...

I wonder if they ever get nostalgic and remember previous homes they lived in and the things they used to do there. My cat used to love running up and down the stairs of our old house and now that we live in an apartment there are no stairs. I always regretted that part of his life got removed. I wonder if he remembers the good old days of running up those stairs.
my dog got hit by a door once and has not trusted doors since

google says it's a bird.
What are some small quiet bird species that are super pretty or unusual looking?
Best thing I've found so far are Gouldian finches, anything else you guys can think of that are on that level?
>>2122427
Love birds aren't too loud in comparison to other species
>wanting a bird as a decoration
Get out
>>2122514
Isn't that finches are for though? They're basically the tetras of the bird world.
So I have been wanting to make this thread for awhile to see what other bird owners have come up with. Since bird toys are usually fairly expensive and are generally torn apart in a matter of weeks exchanging alternatives might be of benefit. Also pic related
I usually just use wiffle balls as a base and fill them with paper/string and nuts. Once they rip everything apart inside you can remake them an repeat.
You can do a bunch of stuff with some wood dowels, twine, and zip ties. A drill and a little hack saw are all the tools required. Bamboo stakes from garden store work well also.
What bird(s) do you have anon?
I use unbleached coffee filters to hide treats in which I then put in a forage ball.
You can buy beads (of course not small enough to swallow/breakable) and put them on bits of string, my bird loves messing with them.
Also when I use them in food she likes to play with the core of a bell pepper; she doesn't really eat it, just chews it a bit and throws the seeds fucking everywhere.
Sure you do this already but you can repurpose broken toys and make frankentoys out of them.
You can pick up dirt cheap baby toys at...

What website is the most reliable to buy an animal from? I hear backwater reptiles is shit, what about reptilecity or lllreptiles or any others?
>>2122074
faunaclassifieds
>>2122080
But this just a bunch of websites grouped together. Which of these are legit and which should be avoided?
It depends on the species. You should avoid the places that sell hundreds of different species as those are often little better than pet shops. Ideally you look for a breeder that specializes in only a handful of species.
So, what kinda herp ya buyin?
I am going to post my gat Mimi
Mimi was found as a kitten at the side of the road very thin. This picture was from her second day being home, she immediately made me her favorite.
not a meme
gat must be fed
who would ever abandon Mimi?
Mimi enters every single box, like many cats. Is this a reason to be abandoned?

DRAG THEM DOWN
Halp,
I got a new snake the other day, Tuesday it was, and I was told she ate last Thursday, and again I was told shes feeding on live anoles. Ive done research and live anoles is a thing with baby boas of this sort (dominican red mountain boa) . So yesterday morning I purchased an anole and threw it in her tank, and minutes after my snek peeked just her head out of her hide and watched the anole for maybe a matter of five minutes give or take, then went back in to hiding. Ive only handled the snake the morning I got her, and she explored for a bit when i first introduced her and has been in hiding ever since. I understand she just got shipped across the country and placed somewhere new so shes probably stressed, but is it normal for her to hide all day everyday? I figured id catch her under the light or getting something to drink. Its only been 3 days since i got her and almost 2 since the anoles been in her tank. I guess i just assumed shed be more interested, ive never had a snake that didnt eat right away. How long is normal when it comes to getting comfortable in a new home? How long should i wait for her to eat or expect her to go without eating? What should i do if she dont? And when? Am i just wiggin out for no reason?
>>2121829
Its fairly normal for it to still be settling in after 3 days.
Did you cover up most of the enclosure so she cant see out of all the sides/is it in a high traffic area?
>>2121836
No and no, i live in the boonies, i will cover her up though. Do i keep it covered until she starts getting active and comfortable or forever or what?
