What are some small quiet bird species that are super pretty or unusual looking?
Best thing I've found so far are Gouldian finches, anything else you guys can think of that are on that level?

Love birds aren't too loud in comparison to other species

>wanting a bird as a decoration

Isn't that finches are for though? They're basically the tetras of the bird world.

Or OP lives in an apartment and wants something that won't be a pain. Nothing suggests he wouldn't provide good care.

OP's post indicates a total lack of knowledge about birds.

Which is fine. If he was really an asshole he'd have impulse bought a parrot already, whereas even a mature child can look after something like finches or tiels.

I don't, I just like birds. I just don't want anything loud, and probably don't have the time to deal with something as needy as a parrot.

I will give them proper care and etc, but I'm looking for a few small interesting birds that will do their own thing.

Doesn't have to be dead silent, I just don't want something making deafening amounts of noise all day.

>>2122847
Are these even available in captivity? Aren't they the constantly flying insect eaters?

>>2122850
Nothing in the post implied a knowledge of birds, or lack of it. I'm just asking for suggestions of more exotic species I might not have thought of. I have decent knowledge of general bird husbandry. I don't even mind weird diets and etc, I just want something small, weird/pretty looking, and something that doesn't scream.

Maybe the "other species" he's talking about are dogday cicadas and snapping shrimp.

How about a California or Valley Quail? They are precocial birds (autonomous upon birth), make some interesting noises, can imprint on humans. Neat pets. Read the book Robert the Quail.

Yeah honestly, chickens aren't bad pets if you've got the yard for it.
>>
They don't make much noise so people sting their eyes so they sing.
