An interesting snake: the Opheodrys aestivus, also know as rough green snake, only kills its prey by strike and has one of the longest tails among snakes. About the third of its body length. They mostly eat insects and you can find them as far as upper Canada. I hear some people also keep them as pets

Terrible, it encourages people to let their cars outside.

Letting your cat outside isn't cool.

It isn't "hip"

And it isn't trendy

It's wildly irresponsible and fosters the destruction of the natural ecosystem.

373 KB,
Just got a cute bunny with my girlfriend. Pic related. This is our first bunny and we're trying to make sure we give her a good home/life. Reason I came here is the pet shop we got her from fed her exclusively pellets and I have reason to believe they separated her from her mom before 8 weeks. We want to introduce her to hay and only supplement it with pellets and veggies, how do we go about doing this? Another question I have is how to teach her to use a designated litter box? Is it just positive reinforcement? How long should it take?

She rarely touches her hay and noms liberally on the pellets when we put them in her bowl. When there's no other food she barely munched on her hay.

Most of the food is undigested, the white seems to be a mix of saliva and stomach fluids
>>
He occasionally does regurgitate/vomit but never to the point that it's regular like this
>>
>>2093268
what did he do before it started?
eat and then run aroumd or play?

If so, get him to the vet NOW, it could be gastric torosion. This can/will end deadly, in a matter of a few hours

if not, look at his gums, are they lighter than usual?
If so, should be poisoning
If the gums are light with red veins/popped veins visible, then it could be rat poison

a dog throwing up a few times in a row is not normal

221 KB,
Guys, my dog-pic related (it's an older pic though, she doesn't look that skinny anymore), just had puppies last night. I'm kind of freaking out and a little excited at the same time, but I didn't know she was pregnant! I feel really fucking bad for not knowing, what if we exercised her too much or something? I make sure to always feed her good food, but I'm not sure if it was enough.

The pups seem healthy though, and they all have a vet appointment tomorrow.

Shit guys, I don't know what to do. We were so careful to keep her inside...

Kind of the same thing that happens if a puppy is never corrected for biting-it eventually turns into an adult with a much stronger jaw.

59 KB,
Will the dog in pic related still produce milk? I saw this picture on facebook saying the dog is overbred, but is there a problem with her giving milk to her puppies, or is it purely just looks? My dog's nipples look like this and she is expecting puppies soon, am I going to have to start supplementing all her puppies myself from now on?

That's a beef cow, not a dairy cow. It will make milk but not enough or quality enough to drink
>>

how many are you expecting?

I don't know, she usually has 5 or 6 puppies. I'm fine with bottle feeding, but I want to know before she gives birth so I'd be prepared with the milk and bottles

horse and donkey.jpg
90 KB,
So comparatively, how are donkeys vs. horses for riding purposes?

I've heard lots of people say donkeys are very stubborn, but I imagine that's either due to lack of training, or maybe donkeys being not quite as willing to learn as horses-which I figure could be moved along with some positive encouragement.

Also, how much land and money do donkeys cost versus horses? Also considering in the vet charges, feed charges, if they need a partner/another animal to keep them happy, all that good stuff.

>>
Horses are better for riding, donkeys are cheaper to maintain. If you're a bigger person (over 175 lbs) you shouldn't even be considering riding a donkey unless it's a mammoth donkey (which are horse-sized).

Donkeys tend to be a bit more hardy but stubborn.

Mules are really where it's at. They're literally the perfect mounts. Perfect blend of strength, endurance, versatility, and loyalty. Plus they're more apt to kick the shit out of a predator (or even defend their rider from one) if they're ever attacked than flip their shit...

What if you weigh around 135-140?
>>
>>2091249
You're not too heavy for a donkey. Just use common sense and don't ride an animal that is clearly too small for you. Donkeys come in a wide variety of sizes, some are really not suitable for riding (although people ride them anyway because in general donkeys are treated worse than shit, particularly in third world shitholes). If your feet come off the ground at least 4-6 inches when you're on the animal's back, it's probably big enough for you to ride without hurting it at your weight.
