I've been wanting to have at least one high end figure in my collection for a while now, and found a decent deal on pic related. Any body else have this? How is he?
He is very high quality, as with Hot Toys usual standard.
The sneaking suit can be a little restrictive on the articulation, due to the nature of the materials but the actual look and accessories are top tier.
>>5563119
Plus you can go the whole mile and just re-outfit him for a pretty reasonable cost.
Though finding the right gloves is a fuck and I still haven't found any that don't look utterly shite.

Double whammy thread. Went to Wal-Mart just now (around midnight) and there was some effed up looking dude trying to talk to me about how his lightsaber doesn't work. He said, "you haven't lived until your lightsaber doesn't work." Ok, so, killing time in Hell, sippin a Pepsi and I found this pro wrestling playset for $4.95.
The ring is actually pretty nice. I've seen much worse rings for more than twice as much, and it came with a lot of accessories (table, chair, crutches, traffic cone, ladder, championship belt) and 2 horrifying figures (fave is pic related: flesh color teeth Kurt Angle). The chair and table should scale well with Figmas and SHF. Ring scales more towards 1/18th though but still big enough as a display piece for larger figs.
Anyway if anyone wants a cheap and decent ring heads up. I think every /toy/ soldier should have one. It wasn't with the WWE toys btw, kinda in the BS aisle.

Sigh
I wish walmarts were open that late where I live
>>5562116
Where do you live? Even my hometown which is 13k strong has a 24/7 Wally.
Forgot to mention I ignored the lightsaber dude and he eventually walked off muttering to himself and whistling.
Late night Wal-Mart is a strange world. Once I saw two people having the sex in the parking lot, then when I went inside some methhead popped up from a clothes rack with panties on his head and waved at us. I bought a TMNT Pez dispenser and left.
>>5562110
just checked my local Wal-Mart of Black series figs, after sighing at the fact that the same 2 Finn's have been on the peg for 3 months i looked just across on the counter and there were around 4 Han solo's and a Flame trooper stacked randomly under some other bullshit.
can employees not be such lazy fucks?
Anybody here has pic related for sale?
I think it was made by thinkgeek but apparently it's out of production and I can't find it anywhere online for sale

Requesting pic related with your favorite toys
What's is the purpose of turning your home into a stockroom or toy shop?
I'm curious on what enjoyment you get out of collecting boxes.
>where do you think we are?
But really, I kind of agree. People who collect EVERYTHING in-box are missing the fucking point of the hobbt so hard.
And keeping clamshells in-packaging is laughably retarded
>>5560864
Same thing people get when they get a rare issue of a comic book and keeps it sealed in stored.
It's a feeling of accomplish, a sensation of showing your fandom. I would even argue why take them out of the boxes? If you have that many figs, could you even do each one of them justice by giving them space on shelves? Atleast on the wall they all get to shine and appeal to people to look at it.
We hang posters, wall scrolls, placing statues around our homes, toys are no different.

No we're not, one group thinks posing means anything and the other wants to represent their past and future support for said franchise.
Hi guys I just dug up my old toys and I noticed there was this oily/sticky substance on some of them
I have been storing these toys together in one of those big plastic boxes and said boxes were inside the closet, away from sunlight.
Is this the plastic deteriorating?
It's the plasticiser leaking out. It happens when toys are stored in humid environments.
So yes, in a way, it is deteriorating your toys
Kinda. The plasticizers in the plastics settle slowly over time and vaporizes. If sealed, they form a layer on the toy itself instead. Keeping them away from sunlight, heat and humidity only slows down the process but doesn't prevent it.
Normally it doesn't really affect the toy much. Just wash it up with dishwashing liquid.
Does anyone happen to have this figma?
Is it worth 200 burgers to import the Japanese CE if I still haven't gotten around to buying Gravity Rush HD and I want a figma of my waifu?
Not for $200.
You can try to lurk 2nd hand sites like Mandarake and wait for a chance to get the figma itself and for less also.
>>5560824
Not even with the cost of the PS4 game being included in that price?
>>5560841
Not really and I enjoyed Gravity Daze on its original release. $200 just doesn't justify it even with the figma on top.
Only thing going for her is her character and maybe the cat but honestly just wait and lurk Mandy listings and pray you come across her as you search. Alternatively you can try to lurk AmiAmi's preowned section for a shot but you need to be fast on the order button. Jungle is another decent spot for 2nd hand figures.
So far so good!
The feet looks like he's wearing leathet shoes though.

I like how you can use the shuttle nosecone halves/his feet instead of the default train ends to give him a sort of bullet train look.

Hey /toy/, question, what are some robots that pull off the 'robot in a bigger robot suit' thing and manage to have it still be articulated? something like pic related but not a brick.
>>5559844
Well there's a SoC update of that guy.
http://www.collectiondx.com/review/chogokin/baikanfu
Gurren Lagann has some that are like that, but each robot is a fraction of the size of the robot it goes into.
>>5559866
This is the toy board so obviously this is about toys. No Gurren Lagann toy exists that replicates the whole GL to Dai Ginga GL change (which is technically feasible but Dai Ginga would wind up the size of TR Fortress Maximus).
Oh, I guess you can count Transformers Energons Omega Prime.
Can anyone tell me what the 2.0 jetfire and grimlock goes for these days?
I have the set and I am thinking about selling it. Only defect is that Jetfire is missing his handblaster
>>5559426
You really need to do the leg work
Short answer is less than retail if open and if parts are missing even less
Both those bots have gotten superior toys made over the years and ech new one hurts the value of the old one like that.
>>5559426
>Classics 2.0
I think you're confused.
It's not the new hotness so you will be lucky to get nothing for it.
I'd like a good Wonder Woman figure and this looks awfully neat, but, although I've never had a Mafex figure, I know better than to think the production model will look that good. Do Mafex figures turn out too much worse than their preview images or should I be alright?
>>5555645
Why would you want that version of WW?
>>5555652
Because it looks cool and the fact that it's from a movie doesn't bother me.
Granted I haven't actually looked around to see what other WW figures are out there so maybe I should do that first.
mafex has pretty floppy quality that's for sure. weak joints, popping off parts, inaccurate likeness...
Which toys bring nostalgia to you?

TF Cybertron was my first TF series and collection focus. I was 20 at the time. also it blew my mind when I found out one of the Bayformer redecos could still combine with Optimus. I dont have them anymore
