39 KB,
Hello /toy/!
Newbie collector here. I was walking around my local Walmart/Kmart/Toys-r-us looking for something that caught my eye just to add to my small and pitiful collection when I thought of something. I thought, "Whats the craziest thing someone has ever done for a /toy/ they wanted?". Since none of my friends collect, I bring the question to you. Now this question is very broad and generic, I know, but interesting nonetheless. This could be when you grabbed something from a kid that you knew would destroy it, bought something instead of paying a bill, or...

I spent almost $90 on a Bandai GMK Godzilla that had paint scuffs and no tag because I didn't feel like looking for one on eBay.

time for some good old turkish snacks, topkek

i spent 500$ on a haruhi figma set and 500$ on a k-on figma set back in 2009 when I was 18

I regretted it, so to redeem myself from looking like a pussy, I bought the whole fucking set, and I'm talking whole fucking set of Gokaiger figuarts and Shinkenger.

When I feel a little more like a dude finally, I realized I'm still childish.
So I've chilled on the huge purchases.

Then I realized I spent a lot on toys over the course...

64 KB,
What Ibuki figure should I get, Play Arts or SOTA? Scale is not important and neither is price.

From what I can see the Play Arts looks more screen accurate but I don't like that her face is not covered up while for the SOTA one the pants look a bit odd and I was told Ibuki's legs are a little loose.

I like the PAK, it's a little stylized more than the game. Easy to pose, good range of movement, and it's pretty hot. Soft chest and ass. Only problems were that her front hair pieces come out very easily and she can't stand on her own very well so you have to use the stand.

Either wait for the figuarts a new hope han or save a bit more and buy the hot toys.

No smaller han's are going to be half as good as the figuarts and no larger ones will stack to the hot toys.

Where to buy
>GSC Online Shop - some figmas only are available through their online shop
>Amiami - usual place for buying, to some people, shipping is a bit higher due to packaging
>Hobby Link Japan shipping is usual lower, but their prices are a bit higher, private warehaouse is available
>Hobby Search Japan - items stay in stock the longest
>Mandarake - search figma or フィグマ
>eBay/Amazon - only if you hate having too much money. Avoid bootlegs, you can spot them as 'Chinese version'

I updated the amiibo checklist with Corrin and Bayonetta, but I am unable to post the image because I'm getting a "connection error." Is there a reason for that? Should I just post a link?

I also found a way to cut off one of the rows and move those amiibo up, so it looks much cleaner now!

Hi /toy/, i've been thinking in starting to collect toys and figures, but my concern is the dust. How do you prevent the toys from catching too much dust or do yo clean them periodically? If so, how do yo clean the ones with really tight spots? Do you just dissamble them?

Those of you just joining us, please read this guide. Please read it before asking questions as there is a chance it has already been answered there.

For those unfamiliar, "Plamo" is a shortened form of "plastic model." If it's made of plastic, someone can probably help you here.

They need to redoo this doll properly desu.

Mattel just released a bunch of ballerinas and some "birthday" dolls, all super boring and uninspired, even if some have nice faces in the prototype images.

There's also the new Barbie Look dolls.

In wich they try to be a little like what they portrait on instagram...

I miss the rooted lashes, and the outfits are not exactly for my taste, but I think I'll get one of them.
>>
>>5280618
They need to shitcan whoever is obsessed with making everything look like cheap crap from the 80s-early 90s. If people really wanted to pay $30-50 for 80s/90s Superstar era junk, most of it wouldn't be $5 on eBay.

The Marvel general is saging and im not worthy to make one.

So i'll ask here, are there any bootleg Marvel Select Venoms? Because i see a large price gap while looking trough different sellers... and if there are bootlegs, how are they?

I plan to gift this to someone who is not versed in figures so if it is a quality bootleg (think Datong) then i wouldn't mind.

I once got a bootleg of that particular venom. He smelled like cheap Chinese cigarettes, and I couldn't get rid of the smell so I tossed it and found a legit one. The figure was ok minus the smell. I found it on eBay for like $15 if I remember right
>>
>>5375826
Last I heard was that they're legit and DST have also said that there haven't been any reports of bootlegging for this particular Venom. Most likely some of the figures are just stolen from the factories more than anything.
