Does starvation hurt? It doesn't feel that bad being hungry so I might aswell stop eating all together and end my shitty life already.
Of course it does. Starving people in third world countries even take painkillers just to soothe the hunger pains.
That's a pretty dumb way to kill yourself. Stop being retarded and live life normally
>>17089709
as someone with anorexia nervosa; nope! no pain. my teeth feel a little loose and my immune system is shot; but the stats say i will die of complications like organ failure or heart disease in about ten yrs.
guess it depends on how srsly you starve yourself, for how long it takes, and if any asshole fambly will commit you to treatment
garbage bag over head and tied firmly around neck asphyxiates. you basically fall asleep with a sort of headache and don't wake up.
i guess the moral thing to say is 'don't do it", but honestly, i respect your option to lie down and call it quits. it is none of my business what other people do with their bodies, so long as they don't hurt anyone else.
Need some advice here, guys. I got a female friend who's really interested in me and coming onto me strongly. Problem is, she's black and I'm not sure if I am really attracted to black women. We've been close for many years so I see her as a really great friend but I'm not sure if I can see her in a romantic light. Should I take the plunge even if I'm not sure if I'm attracted to her because of her race?
>>17089699
I'm not attracted to black people either. Im not even racist (German) I just think them physically repulsive. There are only very veeeeery few (half black) exceptions to this rule. Really. If you don't feel the same its probably only in your head (you racist faggot).
Just kidding. Probably I feel stronger repulsion than you because I'm female and designed to be pickier by evolution?
I would like a qt black gf please
>>17089718
>I'm not racist, I'm just a German who thinks other races are physically repulsive
Nice one
Man this is gonna sound like such humblebrag bullshit, but...
I have recently been given a job opportunity where I could move to Ireland. In terms of money, career and overall life and financial security this is a huge break for me.
But,how attractive are women in Ireland on average? More specifically how hot are women in Ireland on average.
The reasons this is legitimately deciding factor are as follows:
Where I live the average woman is quite attractive. In my opinion, 8s and up. I once had a job that had me engage with tourists a lot and Americans in particular used to comment on this, I recall one guy saying there were attractive women in the part of the USA he was from, but just not as many as he would see in our city everyday;
I'm in my 20s and I live in an area where there are a lot of University and college students making them a regular part of my social circles;
There's a great variety of cultures and races in the women around where I live;
I'm single and I have very little trouble courting women.
The flip side of this discussion is that my current job has no future even though it pays the bills and let's me save a little. Ireland isn't the only opportunity it's just a great opportunity with nepotism.
Essentially I'm afraid of sacrificing banging hot chicks in the last few years of my 20s for a quick shot at building a more secure future for my 30s +.
Picture relevance: Lynne Cantwell, Irish Rugby Union player. No opinion on her looks I just think she's cool.

>In terms of money, career and overall life and financial security this is a huge break for me.
I don't know much about Irish women but, if you're being offered this and would be deterred by the prospect of being surrounded by ugly women, you are a dumbass.
>>17089693
It depends on your taste. This woman is considered attractive in Ireland.
>>17089693
>this is gonna sound like such humblebrag bullshit
followed by humblebrag bullshit. Good thing I only skimmed it. People like you are so fucking intolerable as soon as you open your mouth "Man I have this horrible problem (proceed to idiotically transparent bragging"
Next time you do that IRL slap yourself in the fucking face, you deserve it.
How do I stop being a hopeless romantic? I go into every relationship with unrealistic expectations and end up being really heart broken. I just want to be one of those people that's grounded and goes with the flow.

Stop entering relationships just because.
>>17089646
you need a couple of relationships like that, you will learn.

Have any of you had a laceration or surgical incision scar become painful years after it's occurrence?
I was stabbed with a small knife when I was a teenager and the old stitched up scar has become very puffy and sensitive over the last few days. This morning it was completely full of blood and was protruding from my gut. I applied a little bit of pressure and it burst open, it's been bleeding for a few minutes now.
Does this sound like an infection, or just the product of a possible skin condition? I have psoriasis and if it makes a difference there was a hair growing through the scar over the last few days
Is it bleeding profusely or just sort of trickling? It might've just been some really irritated hair follicle on the scar tissue.
Or it might've been a slight hemorrhage from being stabbed in the gut.
Keep the wound clean and monitor it for any kind of pus or infection over the next day or two. If it starts doing anything weird, immediately go to a doctor.
>>17089627
I suppose it's just trickling, but initially it was coming out pretty fast. There's no pus or any kind of mass or fluids other than blood at the moment, but it seems like after I drain it, that area of tissue fills right back up with blood again and keeps seeping out
Huh. In the old days, that was a sign of Vitamin C deficiency, if it came with bad breath and your teeth falling out. Scurvy, lol.
OP, go to the doc. If it is an infection, the scarring can be a great pathway for the infection to get into your gut cavity, which you don't want.
I'm not a doc, but have paramedic training, long ago. Go get checked out, serious. If the doc sends you home with a band-aid and antibiotics, you'll be comfortable because you had a diagnosis. Not knowing what's up will suck, anyhow, and while you might be fine, 'might be' is a shitty gamble.
Holy shit I keep grinding my teeth and clenching them together real hard. I'm afraid I'll grind them away or chip a tooth or something. It makes my jaw hurt. Can I get any help?

Go buy a mouth guard from a pharmacy
>>17089601
Don't get a pharmacy night guard. Get a professionally fit one (yes, it's expensive as hell). It will save you much pain and ortho expense down the road. The material is made such that it trains your jaw to relax as you're sleeping since it's kinda springy. However, I've ground my way through 2 night guards in my life but it's better than the headache inducing TMJ that can associate with bruxism
I have what you have, it's called bruxism. Get a night guard from your dentist, they can mold one to your mouth. it is expensive but it will be cheaper than having to get a tooth fixed. I also recommend trying to get TMJ-specific massage to try to relax the muscles. Here's a guide to help you do it yourself but professional is better. http://www.massagetoday.com/archives/2004/12/05.html
You can't easily fix tooth grinding at night but you can be aware of it during the day. Periodically check your jaw and relax it if you're grinding. You can hold the tip of your tongue between your teeth as a deterrent, since it will hurt if you bite down.
I also recommend avoiding chewing gum, that always makes it worse for me.
Visiting London at the moment. Are there any places you would recommend that aren't overcrowded by tourists?
Nope! Welcome to London.
Not that we're going to tell you about, that's for fucking sure
Where could i find a good pub?
Just been offered a job, what should I do?
-graduated last year, graphic design
-worked shitty hotel jobs for 6 months
-feb/2016 I get an intern in a start up/year old company, going well, but not paying me, I do social media posts, product banners, adverts, general graphic stuff, they keep saying they will offer me job at the end of may, no confirmation though of anything
-april/2016 start looking for jobs again as have more experience
-go on two interviews this week
-get offered one in a ebay sellers company, they do car accessories, seems legit, 8 staff, boss shows me figures on ebay, last month sold 92k worth of product, seems good, I would be doing ebay adverts/website/general graphic stuff for products
-the other interview, at better company, working for advertising company, worked with big brands, the interviewee says I would be a good fit, he liked me, hasn't got back to me as of yet, would prefer to work for them, but could still reject me
help
OP,
Never. NEVER. NEVER! Work for free. Goddamn, where is your father? He should have made that clear when you were still a kid.
My suggestion, go to your slavemaster, and tell them you have interviews coming up, you've scheduled them outside of the time when you plan on being there, but you can't afford to work for free, and would like to know whether or not you're wasting your time allowing them to profit from your work without compensation.
Never do that shit again. You need a slap upside your head for agreeing to it.
I'll tell you, I was offered an internship at Massachusetts General Hospital when I was an undergrad. My school was walking distance. I did well at the interview, and then they talked about what a great experience it was, and then mentioned there were 6 slots, and it was unpaid. I got up, shaked hands, and said I work hard, and for cheap, but my existing skills and ability to learn would never be given away for free, and I couldn't afford it anyways.
They called me back that night. 5 people did the job for free. I got paid.
Even if you never get called back, you've got to signal that you're nobody's bitch. Otherwise, you absolutely are.
>>17089559
THIS, OP.
Literally don't do another second of work for them. Ask to get paid, and if they don't then quit.
>>17089559
Isn't relevant unpaid experience better than irrelevant paid experience?
Sometimes I wonder if there really is anyone for me out there.
I'm honestly not all that interesting. Kinda a blank slate, I kinda spend most of my free time sitting around the house playing games or listening to music. Most new people I meet think I'm really boring because I don't really have much to talk about. I've tried picking up new hobbies but I've been very hard pressed to find new things that interest me (plus I'm really really bad at teaching myself new things).
On top of that, I'm not the easiest person to put up with either, whoever ends up with me is going to require a lot of patience. In relationships I tend to need constant reassurance that I'm not doing anything upsetting or hurtful, I can be pretty neglectful without even realizing it, I'm really selfish and needy too. I've tried working on all this, but I can never actually make myself better.
I honestly feel like an extremely boring trainwreck some days. I recognize that I'm exaggerating a little bit, but lately I just haven't been able to get these thoughts and worries out of my head.
p.s. I'm only 20, so I know this whole "searching for a soulmate" mindset is a little silly, I've just been in a really shitty place emotionally lately and shit like this is all I've been able to think about lately for some reason.
You can be my gf I suppose
>>17089515
I'm a guy tho, thanks for the offer I guess
OK, look, OP, get over yourself.
If you've got a shitty self-image, you need to do something that you can be proud of. I'd suggest doing that through work or a hobby, and mastering it.
If you're going to float through life, and it sounds like you are, so far, you're not going to get shit, because you haven't earned it.
... and i know that you totally understand. You're obviously not an idiot. But you ARE going to have to get up off your ass and make some sort of changes, perhaps starting with not opening up by listing exactly why you can't make positive changes in your own life, and seeing why and where you can do so.
I'm not a fucking motivational speaker, OP. I'm a ship's captain, so I currently have 21 male children ranging from a 78-year old Filipino to a 19-year old black kid from Detroit who grew up in group homes and has spent more time behind bars than the rest of us combined.
People CAN make changes. the kid I'm talking about will make a great engineer if he stays with us for a few years. He's got the gift.
... thing is, you won't know where your passion or where your gifts lie without seeking them out. Doing what you are doing obviously isn't working for you. Why continue? "Because it's easy' is a cunty answer, and not really workable over a long enough timeline. Eventually you're going to have to make changes anyhow, and the results will be better if you do so voluntarily, ahead of time.
Go do something today you don't normally do. Go for a walk, go clean something, or buy something you have to build. Go experiment. Walk into a bar with a book and sit down, have a beer and read your book at the bar. It's not scary, and it's not rocket science. Just get off your ass, and try to move, and try to do things you haven't done before. You'll learn more about who you are and who you aren't, and that's never a bad thing.
YOU have value, just by being. You can enhance that value by being interesting and happy.
Is there a reason to live with club feet and IBS?
I dunno lol

Is there a reason to live if I have depression and anxiety?
I have a huge problem. I was a neet after getting my diploma and when I have finally decided to get a grip and apply for university, I find out that I need a testimonial from my lecturer. The thing is it's been 4 years since I graduated and I have been doing nothing but part-time jobs. I was able to find his email but i have no idea what to say
Hmmmm. Normally, I'd say contact the admissions department of the university, and ask them. I know a few guys who entered university in their mid 20's and early 30's, but they all had careers and military experience, etc. Saying that you were a useless vampire who stayed at mommy's tit for too long probably won't tickle their pickles.
#1, I'd be resentful towards your enablers for helping you fuck yourself this much.
#2, you may need to wait a while and do something worth talking about before getting what you want. Live with it. If you want to do something bad enough, you'll find a way to make it work or seek out an alternate path of equal value.
#3. Contact the admissions department at the university. Don't mention being a useless faggy bag of suck when they ask about what you've been doing outside of jerking off to cartoons in mom's basement. Don't give your name, just seek out the information.
#4, stop sucking at life. If you're truly useless, what makes you think you can survive at university? Granted, it can be used as a day-care center for useless shitheads, but it ain't free, and haven't you already fucked things up enough?
Now, if you've reformed, and really have stopped sucking at life, dig in and find a solution.
Oh, and get off of /adv, asshole, and be productive.
>>17089508
I already submitted my portfolio and all the other necessary documents, the only thing Im missing is the testimonial which they told me was important. I could follow one of those templates on google about requesting a testimonial but theres nothing there about a 4 year gap, thats why i thought to seek advice here first before sending an email

I kind of want to leave my girlfriend, but I don't really have a "reason" you know?
Like...I really like her as a person. She's a super sweet girl with a lot of great qualities...but we're 23 & 24 and have been dating for three years and I don't think I have any intention of ever marrying her.
I donno, is it okay to break up with someone without a "reason"? Does that make me a total dick?
pls help what should i do
>>17089470
>I don't think I have any intention of ever marrying her
This is a very good reason.
This is the time of life when you should be finding a person to marry.
She either
A) thinks you're going to get married, in which case you're doing her a huge favor in breaking this news to her ASAP
B) thinks you're not going to get married, in which case a breakup is probably something she's planning on at some point as well
Do it m88
You should have a reason to stay with someone, not the other way around. People seem to believe they NEED to be in a relationship, even if they have no real emotional investment in it. The truth is there's absolutely nothing wrong with being single until you find a reason to be with someone
Well, what is it that you really want?
If you're looking for long-term commitment with an eye towards a traditional marriage, you've already given the most important reason to end the relationship: there's no future there for you two.
If you're just bored, that's OK, too. Ultimately, if you can't give a full commitment or aren't letting your gf know that you're not feeling a strong desire to stay together, it's a pretty solid form of dishonesty to withhold that from her. She deserves to be with someone who truly wants to be with her, just as you do.
But don't frame it as you doing something for her- be manly and honest and gentle with her. If she's not expecting this, it'll probably suck for her, but it would suck more for you to be dishonest about it.
I'd suggest taking a minute and really taking inventory about what you want out of her, and out of life, and out of sharing it with someone. "I don't know" is a legit answer, and it doesn't mean that you should choose to stay with her, if that's not what you want.
Chances are, you already know what you need to do, and are looking for support or justification; forget it. You need to own your decisions, OP. And good luck. Listen to that little voice inside you.
Anal sex really turns me off. I do not have any interest of sticking my penis into someone's pooper.
Am I alone in this?
Importantly, I've been dating a girl who has been asking me to do this. Any advice?
This is a blue board, asshole

That's hardly a NSFW image.
Current crush of mine wich I spent most of the times with at uni last two months called me esterday afternoon, I was in class so I couldnt pick it up texted me yesterday that she and I wrote her text saying whats up. Shortly after that she replied "I'm just kind of drunk and stoned with Lucy at the park and I just wanted to say that it'd be nice if you were here :)".
We are really having some nice times when we are together, do you think that the text indicates there's something more going on? She never sent me a text like that before.
Well, she was under the influence of behaviour altering substances, but there's usually a grain of truth in them. It's quite possible
