Anyone ever feel that they're too old for going to college? I'll be turning 25 in a couple months and I haven't started yet. Is it to late? I don't want to be just graduating school at 30 years old...

I was 22 when I went which is considered late as well. You'll be fine there was late 20's in my class.
Recent times I found that I enjoy using my hands when doing work. Examples: working with wood, locksmiths and etc.
The problem is: there isn't a carreer and a great salary for manual work.

Any kind of technician; ie mechanical, electrical, automotive, etc.
You don't even need a degree in some cases. You just need certifications, and in some you just need experience. It helps with electrical and more advanced things to get a proper education as it's slightly more technical.
I'm a mechanical technician for oilfield measuring equipment. I only have an Associates of Science degree. I currently only make $40K/year but in a few years when things pick up I should be around $60K/year.

Extend your sympathies. You have not been negatively involved in her life, there's no reason for you to not act in kindness in fear of creating an awkward situation.
It coming from her old highschool crush may actually make it far more meaningful to her, a lot of women have a tendency to "cling" to those for a few years after or until they get a taste of what they're after.

That all makes sense, especially your point about there being no reason to not be kind just cause it MIGHT lead to an eventual awkward situation. Anything degree that would have classes which would help would be art degrees, which are not needed at all. You are better off teaching yourself and beginning to develop a portfolio.
If you must get a degree, get a Computer Science or Computer Engineering degree, but be warned that what you learn will have little to do with 3D animation except maybe getting to take one elective course in computer graphics.

I also am not sure if self teaching will be as effective as the classroom, many have representatives from these companies coming in to aid and network with artists for potential jobs out of school.

Yeah, it's pretty useful. You need feedback to get better. Also, school is the best place to start building a social network that will help you get a job and better your skills.
Now, i dont know about the schools in your area, but you should call them to get more information about what they are offering and what companies are hiring their students.

Don't touch the screw.
Everytime that tire rotates, it will rub against the screw making the hole larger, thus increasing the chances of having to get a whole new tire instead of a patch job.
