I havent read a book for pleasure in maybe 8 years.
What book should I try to read?
How can I make it so that the urge to put it down dosen't overwhelm me?

Get past the exposition. Read a throwaway pulp book. I read one called the 47th samurai about a vietnam vet taking on the yakuza, it was fun and easy to read.
I hadn't read a book in a few years myself. Aside from stuff like Freakonomics and John Stossel books. Then I found a copy of Killing Floor by Lee Child in the trash at work. Read the entire book in like 3 days. Then read the next one in about 5. Then the third in the series in another 5. On the 4th book now. 16 to go.
The first one was really good and so was the second one. I couldn't stop reading. They're the Jack Reacher books by the way. Good thrillers that make you wanna keep reading to find out what happens.

Why are women so friendly and forward when you appear sad?
It seems like the only time I have girls approaching is when I'm on the verge of tears. Whenever I look depressed, they seem to be more at ease, comfortable, in my presence. They're more willing to talk and hang out. And sometimes they're the ones approaching me for various stuff.
One recent example was when it seems like nothing was going to work out with a girl I've been spending the past year falling in love with. I walked around campus on the threshold of breaking down. This was also one of those rare moments where I decided not to hide it. If people could tell on my face something was up, so be it.
And as a result, I had a classmate I haven't seen in a year, nor was very close to, randomly say "hi" before heading to do her finals. Another girl, whom I've never seen before, come up to me in the library and introduced herself (got her number right after). Another girl I hadn't seen in a while, but had a crush on before, came up to me to talk and catch up (got her number as well after this). A few women in my classes that I got to know this term were more friendly and snuggling up to me a bit. And some girl who I apparently met earlier this term, but I don't remember, stopped me to have a chat, then gave me a hug before heading off somewhere else.
This isn't the first time I've had stuff like that happen when I go around looking like I'm about to cry. I don't see the appeal, either. So why does it work on women?

Stop drinking so much. It just gives you a gut and stops you from metabolizing properly. Plus alcohol makes your face and body swell up. Get dry and lean and then start drinking socially.

Pick a good big city newspaper. Read it, cover to cover every day for a month - even the stuff you're not interested in, be it sports or theater reviews. You'll pick up a sense of what's in the air, politically, culturally, pop culture, etc. and be able to hold your own in any conversation.

I decided I want to die tonight, by taking pills and drifting off to sleep by my favourite music. But now that I've taken the 6000mg paracetamol I feel fucking stupid and scared lol, how pathetic of me. I'm reading online that it shouldn't kill me, idk. I weigh about 55kg if that helps. I'm so tired, I'm drifting out from the tablets.. I don't wanna live but I feel so worried now. I can't go to hospital, I can't tell my parents or anyone else. Apparently 7000mg is an overdose but 10,000mg is when it's "dangerous" or "critical", so will I be fine? Please don't freak me out by saying I'm gonna die lol. Please tell me I'm gonna be alright.
