I work as a Painter/Home Improvement guy, and some mornings I need the energy, so I go to the good 'ol cup of joe. Black and strong.
But after about 45 minutes of energy, I start to get a tightness in my chest, I feel really guilty and scared for no reason, and I start to get nervous sweats. What the fuck?

a) talking every day is just a habit, or
b) you talk every day because that's what your partner actually needs.

I am a special education teacher and work with young adults who have severe autism. The fact that you can even type this means you are leagues ahead of how badly others have it.
I don't know your actual level of severity (but it seems you are high functioning), but in general people with autism function better if they have routines and preplanned responses as they have difficulty reading social cues and improvising.
