My legal name is Alexis, but everyone's always called me Lexi. Honestly, I don't really like either and I've been thinking about calling myself Alex instead. I'm about to go to college so its pretty much now or never to go by a new name.
What should I do /adv/? I'm kind of scared my new name won't stick or something like that. Has anyone here ever changed their name and how did it work out?

I quit being a video game addicted nerd 4 years ago when I was starting college. I devoted all that time I spent playing vidya to lifting, playing club sports, studying, doing "constructive shit".
But I miss it so much. I listen to video game OSTs while I'm doing work. I dream of just going home on a nice weekend evening and spending hours playing Castlevania.
If I start playing again, I'm afraid that all the progress I made IRL is going to regress to shit if I even turn on a PlayStation. I'll get lazy, I'll stop working out, going out, and being an "adult". But it's so fucking tempting.

We'll what I did was only play vidya with friends. That way it is still a social activity, and it limits how much you play based off if they are playing or not.
Plus, it's a great way to keep in touch with my friends back home after I moved away for grad school.

Are you good at programming? You dont have to be good at math to excel in computer science, only problem is the major itself when youre in school. Half of the curriculum is heavy math, so its gonna be tough if youre not too good with it to begin with.

I currently have a job that allows me to be on 4chan while I'm at work, which is probably about the only reason I'm able to through
work any more.
I'm in charge of a small store here in my town, and I do a pretty good job of running it. Except for some slight staff issues, which involve weekend theft.
I simply can't be bothered. I tell them everything they can do to prevent this. I've worked the field for many years, and stopped many shoplifters.. And, everything I've passed on to my employees, they seem completely unable to pick up, and it leads to 50-100 dollars of theft nearly each weekend nowadays.
I have footage, it's not the workers, it's just the workers lack of understanding of the most basic shoplifting scams and tactics.
I know I won't stay afloat at this position if this keeps going on, I'd say I have at least another year here.
I have bills to pay, and vehicles that need to be kept up, and of course other stuff that requires money.
I'm trying to think and want to find a way to keep myself making near the money I make now, which is usually 400. But, I'd be fine on 300, or even a bit less weekly.
I was thinking I'd donate plasma twice a week for 50 bucks each week.. And, maybe do temp work.. But, I don't know how much that usually pays, and I'm not wanting to work 40 hours each week any longer.
Maybe a weekend fast food job or something stupid and fun. What do you guys think about this?
