I have no idea how the teaching profession works in the US. The only thing I've heard, based on numerous greentext stories on 4chan, is that public schools are awful.
I took a bachelor degree as music teacher in Norway, and I've found that understanding the learning processes and cognitive development of children is vital to working in classrooms.

Absolutely do NOT get a degree in education unless you plan to be a principal or superintendent. Get a history degree above english- some business firms like the one I'm in are actually looking for history majors right now, so if teaching doesn't suit you, there's a fallback option.

My first job after uni was as a DBA.

Those are never, ever accurate, and I wish people would stop spreading them around like fuckwads.
A DBA is just somebody who deals with SQL and NoSQL databases all day because nobody else fucking wants to. So get really good at SQL and something like MongoDB. And get really comfortable working with linux server software and things like Microsoft Server 2k12, Active Directory, that sort of thing. You're probably going to be handling a lot of that stuff too unless you work at a big company.

So long story short I have been having deep feelings to get back together with my ex. We dated off and on for around 6 months. I'm literally either working, working out, doing self-study, all the time, save when I get like 40 minutes of free time to make a non-shitty dinner every night. Hell my work and leisure outfits are all on point.
If I'm out and about, I'll see people who aren't /fit/ or /fa/. They don't give a fuck and seem just fine hitting happy hour every other day, watching Netflix, and not doing the meme self improvement thing (learn an instrument, martial art, language, lift/exercise hard everyday, severely limit alcohol, etc.)
