Anyone feel that the 00s were kind of like an "updated" version of the late 90s (i.e. awesome) until 2006-2007ish or so, when the Bieber iPhone social media trash garbage shit charmless era started?
People like to say "muh 9/11" and "muh Iraq War" changed everything. Politically, they most certainly did, but pop culturally? Not really, or at least not immediately. I remember a lot of the late 90s things lasting until 2005, well into Dubya's presidency.
Watch a movie like Mean Girls. Came out in 2004, but it could've just as easily came out in 1998. Then look at something like Hannah Montana: The movie. It was released only 4 years later, but it feels like a totally different universe - a "shinier, more modern" plane of existence.
Decades are just numbers. Who knew?

I'm not a liberal. A lot of things about the modern world depress me but the one thing that hurts me the most is that men today are low testosterone beta boys, I want a man who will be the head of my home, not some weak immature kid.
It's not acceptable/forced to wear dresses and girly clothes everyday. That's pretty much it. Nothing else before 1980 seems appealing to me.

Whenever I make a noise up here mom always assume I'm fapping, even if I make exercises. I don't give a shit though, and she's tactful not to say anything either. I am planning on applying for mathematics and philosophy at King's this year. It's one of the top universities in in the UK for philosophy, I don't know about bio but your degree will be well respected. I'd apply.

Kings is decent- got a few friends that study there (engineering). I'm at Warwick and the maths department here is fantastic. Might be worth checking out.
Just go to a University that you actually like. Rankings are hugely bought and paid for and mean virtually nothing to anyone but Students who want to feel smart about attending the X ranked Uni out of Y numbers based off of Z peoples opinions.
The ONLY time what Uni you went to truly matters is when the grading standard in the subject is subject to alterations within the University (For example a Degree in Philosophy from Kings is worth more than a Degree in Philosophy from Westminster). However if you're degree has an objective standard that cannot be altered per Uni then it doesn't matter (An LLB is worth the same whatever Uni you attend).
As with many things its who you meet along the way that counts. I did a Law degree at what is considered one of the worst Universities in the country, but I applied myself and got a 1st. I also did some Mooting competitions (in which I beat people from Oxford and Cambridge Law schools) and thanks to that I met some very handy contacts who helped me out.
