I've determined that the easiest way to lose an argument is to fall for typical "gotcha" questions and start screaming angrily to catch up to the other person's confidence and defend yourself. How best to avoid this? Without saying stupid shit like "I've done my research"
What are some effective tools for being a better arguer/debater and making a good case for yourself.

Raising your voice is a sure way to close peoples minds and put them in an enraged state. A higher pitch also does the same. Speaking slowly with a deep voice conveys authority. Take pauses to recollect yourself and allow what you have just said to sink into the other person.

Reasoning and logic are well and good, but they're concrete. Facts are facts and there's not much more you can say about that.
Wisdom, and by extension a true understanding of reality can't be constrained by these solid constructions. Understanding needs to flow unrestrained like water. You have to be willing to abandon your preconceived knowledge and its rigid, unchanging properties for understanding to flow and achieve true wisdom.
Reasoning and logic are excellent heuristics for learbing about the world, and vital parts of any thinking person's toolbox. But like all heuristics, there are times when they fail, and when they do, one needs other tools to figure those situations out.
Long story short, I was going to log into Facebook using my boyfriend's phone, curiosity got the best of me and I ended up reading a couple conversations between he and his best female friend. They've been friends for years.
I know that snooping is never okay, but I saw some things that really stood out to me.
1. He said I sort of "tricked" him into a relationship with me. I had asked him directly if he'd want to make things official and he agreed, so I have no idea why he told her that.

1. check local job markets for both degrees to see the average pay and difficulty in finding job with those degrees
2. look around to see if your city falls under the Obama bullshit of laying off honkeys left and right to free up jobs for Mohammeds, beaners, and spear-throwers so you actually stand a chance at getting such jobs (or not)
3. Make informed educated decision.
Most don't do this. They think they can waste thousands in student loan debt going to college for that degree in liberal arts or women's studies, then get mad and blame society...

The tldr is there's a girl I used to have the hots for 3 or 4 years ago, but I was turned down and that was fine. That's the past now.

You sound like you are 15. Sorry, but when in a relationship you have to follow rules and if your partner isn't comfortable with you doing certain things around certain people you have to follow. My girlfriend says she's constantly unhappy, with the way I treat her, with how our relationship isn't progressing.
