How do you figure out what you want to do with yourself, mostly career wise. I'm 28 now and have recently recovered from a decade long slump that put my life on hold for many of my establishing years. How do I deal with random bouts of seemingly irrational guilt?

I just applied to a bank. I had three interviews that went pretty well, and they just began doing a background check right before New Year's. Assuming the background doesn't go wrong (which I don't see why it would), is that a pretty good indication that I've got the job?
