How do I impress upon people that it's important to book flights/hotel rooms/whatever early, before prices go up?
I've got two group trips coming up, and I can't seem to get anyone to commit to buying their plane tickets/hotel rooms, even though they've committed to the trip.
Prices always go up and up and up and I can't get anyone to actually do shit about it, then they all bitch about how expensive it is, if not outright drop out altogether.
It drives me nuts, and everyone is always like "it'll work out, stop worrying,"...

Nothing. It's costing them money, not you. The reason they're not paying right now is because they don't have the money right now, or they're not as committed to the trip as you think they are, and they're giving themselves as much time as possible to get out of it.

Yes, it's costing me money because I have to wait for them to book. We're splitting rooms, car rentals, scheduling flights, etc.
Most of this shit isn't "pay right now" kind of stuff anyways, they just need to get online and type in their credit card information. I've already done all of the planning for everyone and we've agreed to a strategy, but they just won't do it.
It's the same thing, every time. I just can't stand sitting here and watching...

I don't know what to do
I am alone in life, I have 1 best friend (thank god) but she lives back in my home state, my family is shitty so I can't depend on them for anything, emotional support or otherwise.
I moved to a new area for a job over 4 years ago, made decent amount of money, but I'm now planning on going right back home because I've managed to make no real friends or figure this place out.
here are some complicating factors: social anxiety, nothing to do in the west suburbs of "chicagoland", hate going into the city, am a lesbian, don't want to date though because I don't want a relationship just yet and I don't want sex (don't want to call myself asexual either), no gay/lesbian scene within reasonable distance, don't like bars anyway, afraid to meet people online even though apparently it's the only way left to meet people anymore. I drink too much, and I've been alone for so long that I'm afraid I'm too weird to ever connect with people ever again.
I feel like I missed something, like there should be more here, but every pathetic attempt to just get out of my apartment outside of work just results in emptiness. I don't share any of my personal life with my co-workers (I don't want to, they're normal, I'd rather just stay home, play video games, do drugs, shitpost, whatever)
I just think I'd feel way more comfortable at home. easier to find a place I'd like to live at, not everything is concentrated in one hellhole of a city (there's some sort of gay scene/bar always close enough, you can drive and don't have to rely on the train which leaves just after midnight)
I was talking to a therapist for a long time (at least 2 years) but in the end I realized I got nothing out of that (no i'm not going to try again, I've tried others too many times I'm done)

Trust issues can come from many factors, they most usually form in childhood. Professional help can help regarding that (I wonder if there is anything other than therapists?)
The problem is, even if you decide to trust an internet person, or not, that doesn't guarantee somebody won't start randomly stalking you. Just because you decide to not do certain things in order to avoid risk, that still doesn't 100% surely help you evade all problems in the future.

Social anxiety is shit yes, but there isn't anything you can do but get over it. Yes I know that's harder than it sounds but it's all that can be done, unless you have therapy for it or something.
Start small, go to a store and just say little comments to people, in a non creepy way if you get where I'm coming from.
I don't know how to explain what I mean properly, but hopefully you catch my drift
So I'm awkward. And boring. I know it, and so does everyone else. I only really get passionate about science and Lord knows there aren't too many men let alone women that are happy to talk about that for extended periods of time. I'm 25 and I don't want to be this way though, especially not awkward. I don't even know what it is that I do or do not do that makes me such an awkward person, so I don't know how to fix it. All I know is that I am. Has anyone else been here before and turned it around?
I was pretty autistic in high school and I still feel the ripple effects of cringe and irl memeing from the dumb stuff I did so I guess I can kinda relate.
The big difference is though, that I signed my rights away to Uncle Sam and in return, I've learned a lot about social etiquette and I've been a lot more comfortable around people.
I think the biggest thing that you should focus on though, is that, while I understand that science is your passion, you should hold off on going on about it.
Save it for people that share your passion for science, and for others, you're gonna have to talk in normie tongues. Even if you think you're boring, it's still very possible to be nice and approachable.
People really appreciate it when you ask questions about them, but don't get too intrusive. Start out by being the nice guy and even if you don't care, attempt to give a shit about other people.

Was wondering if anyone could share some insight as to what to do with my 18 yr old cat. She's a 6 lbs maine coon. She doesn't really eat her food anymore, just licks it. She passed a blood test to go under anesthesia for a dental cleaning and extractions but I worry about putting a cat that old and light under anesthesia.
Would the professional dental procedure help her eat more if successful? Or should I just try brushing her teeth and using holistic dental gels and spray?

You're mouth will hurt too much for solid food for a while. Make sure you have stuff like shakes, yogurt, or pudding to eat instead.
Also make sure your orthodontist gives you dental wax!! You stick it over any sharp parts poking into the inside if your mouth.

I use to play a lot of computer games, but I've slowed down because of the demand of college. I also slowed down because I've been getting bored of games in general. I feel like I'm in a rut I guess. I want to be more passionate about certain hobbies or ... anything new.
I play guitar, and I really enjoy it, but sometimes I get stuck writing and I sorta just slouch back into my computer. I'll end up browsing for like 2 hours...

I was involved in a single car accident last night in California as a passenger. Everyone in the car including the driver was under the influence of marijuana but no sobriety test was performed therefore nobody was arrested, but the car was towed with weed and alcohol in the trunk. (We are all under the age of 21) what are the steps to getting the illegal stuff out of the car before the tow company can search it and report it to the bops.

Started working in a local Emergency Department, and I just completed a few of my orientation shifts. Here is where my concern is. The job I do consists of two duties, desk (secretary work) and patient care. This requires 3/12 hour orientation shifts per duty. I've done the patient care orientation, but not the secretary orientation. They scheduled me for a regular shift that includes both duties, but I have yet to do the secretary training. I just started working this year.
I normally have this internal monologue running about things I see and read, but because my job needs things done on time without spending time on tangential thoughts, I've had to suppress it with some success.
However nowadays I feel like I exist mentally on a lower level. It's not easy to get back, the habit of thinking unconsciously about everything from various angles. If this continues I fear I will become dumber over time. Help.
