the healthiest way is to not make it any secret. these days kids always seem to find out (at least on TV) and there is no reason to keep it a secret. one easy way to do this is to have pictures or something of the birth parent(s) around the house, or an item from them or something and just point it out to them, even as a baby. as they grow up they just assume its normal. once a month going over pictures with your child (here was you at the park, here was us at disney land, here was you at school, and here is a picture of your birth mommy at the hospital or whatever etc) so as they develop into a conscious and understanding human being its there. by the time they are old enough to understand it they dont really care, cuz they were raised without any confusion around it. if any other kids have quesitons they dont explain. there might be one conflict a year but its not a big deal.
its kind of like how some kids were just raised and taught about sex at an early age, so they can sit there and talk very clinically about it with no shame and just laugh off the kids who get confused or are grossed out or what have you.
Okay /adv/, yesterday I bought 3 "shrooms" that look like little chocolate squares with mushrooms in them. Now what I was planning to do was just to have myself and two friends both eat a chocolate so we can trip together. But what I wanted to ask you, since this is going to be my first time eating any, is will one "chocolate" be enough? Will it be too much? Is there any way I can tell?
Other than that I'd be happy to hear any advice you might have for me about how to eat them, what to do when I'm on them, how it'll open my mind to the nth dimension, what to avoid when I'm on them, etc. Give me a shroom crash course if you will.

My girlfriend asked me what I think about when I jerk off. I told her it's different every time: her, celebrities, past experiences, imaginary people that don't exist. . . . She seemed hurt as she told me that she only thinks of us having sex.
Should I have lied?
Why is honesty seemingly so frowned upon in western culture?
Well, i would only ask my bf that question if i'' down with hearing about how he beats his meat to shemales and furry porn. But i have to admit that i somehow understand your gf. The first time a bf/gf asks you this question you usually stay on the safe side to test the water and see how sensitive they are about that topic. You can go "full honest", later on, when you have progressed to watching porn together or whatever. Weirdly enough, i'm observing that i'm more drawn to porn that has some elemnt in it that reminds me of my bf or our sex. You could watch out for the same and then tell her that. Maybe that vid is especially neat cause the girl has similar boobs as your gf. Or the way she moans reminds you of her. Or they do that position you two love. Things like that
>>16999841
>past experiences
That probably hurt her the most. Don't ever tell a girl you're fantasizing about an ex.
It'd be worse if you lied.
After a period of "depression" I decided to go back to the real world, but to my desperation I found out I can't talk properly anymore, nor write. Whenever I want to say something I stutter and mumble and words just won't come out of my mouth.Even when I'm thinking,I can't come up with coherent tenses. Please help,it's driving me crazy. I visited the social anxiety forum beforehand but I realized its not my problem,I don't have anxiety, never had.
>inb4 how did you write this
It took a lot of effort.
Also, creativity and "intelligence" (and social intelligence) seem to have gone as well
did you take medications? drugs like antidepressants have some long term side effects
give it 2 years to wear off
>>16999845
No.Never have. That's why is so horrible, its like something broke inside my brain for no reason at all.

go talk to people. only way to get better is by doing it. talk to a therapist if that helps
Is it worrying to think that suicide would relieve me from all the worries and circumstances I'm in, even though I'm pretty sure I won't end up doing it due to either a lack of courage or morals, or both?
The last 2 years throughout have been one of the worst periods of my life, physically and mentally. As a result of that, I've severely lagged on looking after my own health and passions I used to pursue. When things start welling up inside, this random thought of suicide just pops in. I've never tried to talk to anyone about this because I feel like I'm fishing for attention, due that internal belief that I won't do it, gives me the impression that I'm not serious. The problem is though, I feel like I shouldn't be having that thought in the first place. Should I do something about this, or am I just overthinking it?
>>16999811
I have recently learned from trained professionals that suicide thoughts are not really that uncommon. On the contrary, a lot of people goes through this, but doesn't speak up because of the taboo associated with it.
So I just wanted to tell you, that what you are experiencing isn't just you "fishing for attention".
I'm glad to hear that you are convinced that you are not going to go through with it. Nevertheless, I would try talking about this with someone you trust. Do you have any friends or family that has suffered from depression or anxiety? I think you'll find these people have a lot of insights into what you are experiencing, even if you don't have any of these disorders.
>TL;DR: You are absolutely not an attention whore, so take yourself seriously.
>Suicide thoughts are not as uncommon as you might think.
>>16999811
is it worrying? no. you are technically correct, but you are just being dumb. if you are REALLY dumb, thats worrying, but everyone has these thoughts here and there. suicide isnt a foreign concept anymore. its something that we hear about everyday. so our minds naturally wander to it for various reasons.
in regards to your feelings, you have to realize that you dont have to tack on 'suicide' for feelings to be valid. people seem to think that if they dont use the word 'depressed' or 'suicide' that they arent feeling anything important enough to address.
sit down and make a list of all the things that make you sad. can the problem be solved? is the problem real? a lot of problems can be solved simply by letting it go. friend being a cunt? not your friend anymore. that girl being unresponsive? dont give her anything to respond to. dad a twat? dont talk to him.
if you absolutely cannot talk to a friend about it, go talk to a therapist.
>>16999865
Makes sense, I'll try to talk to a friend of mine.
>>16999870
That's why I hesitate to talk about this and tell people that I'm depressed, I hate self-diagnosing. But the thing is, I lost my mother to cancer last year, and everything changed from that point onward and extending further back to the day she was diagnosed. After a whole year losing track of life, I'm trying to get things back on track now, but every now and then when I get overwhelmed, this thought pops up, and it just made me wonder if it's normal to get this. But now I understand what you guys are saying, I will talk to a friend about this.
So I have a seasonal pollen allergy starting this month untill july.
I have been to an allergologist and have prescribed medication but the problem is that it does not always work, sometimes i get the days that it does not work at all.
I have to still go to school which is near a forest so limiting the pollen around me is not really an option.
Is there something i can do to make my symptoms more bearable ?
has anyone ever told you that B vitamins help a lot with allergies? bees collect pollen, and turn it into 2 products. Honey, and vitamin B5 which is what the queen bee eats. Maybe she needs B5 because of all the pollen in the hive, lol.
maybe bees do to pollen, what a vaccine does to a virus. the bees break it down into a compound that gives you immunity. or something like that.
The best sources of vitamin B5 are chick peas, cauliflower, kale, avocado, legumes, lentils, egg yolks, broccoli, and brewer's yeast
>>16999809
Maybe you could try wearing a mask over your nose and mouth like Chinese people do when they're sick. Maybe it would filter out some of the pollen
People that have met their SO outside of college/high school, how did you do it? Also state the age you two met.
We met at a get together of mutual friends. He was 22, i was 25.

Tinder
Hey there /adv/!
I have a project for english class soon - we basically present what we want and I want to talk about some interesting murders. Do you think it might be "too much"? What and who is worth mentioning during my speech in your opinion?
Why did you choose that topic? How long has your presentation to be? What is the point you want to get across? There's a phlethora of interesting cases, i love the topic. But for people that aren't into it it might be too intense, especially if you go into details. The most interessting part imo
>>16999781
Ask yourself this,
Do you want people thinking what you did your report on reflects you? If you stand up and talk about interesting murders you are going to be know as that kid who is interested in murder.
Pick something more PG-13
>>16999799
Well, I just thought that it would be interesting, there's something thrilling in that... I really want things that will leave them thinking about my presentacion for a long time, I want them to think about all the cases. It's supposed to be from 5 minutes to 1 hour.
>>16999816
It's okay! I'll tell them that I choose that topic to make them aware of some dangerous things, that they can happen to everyone etc.
So I asked this girl out today via text and this is her response. Should I be worried? Am I good to go?
Ask her in person you pussy
>came to advice to brag
Git out
Shea gonna kill you. Don't go and lock your doors and windows

She's insane.
Hey I need some advice.
Long story short I'm getting evicted from my apartment. It's for bullshit that really isn't worth going into but it's not for nonpayment of rent. I can go into more detail if need be.
They served us the notice 2 weeks ago tomorrow. It said we have 14 days to leave. That would give us through tomorrow night. We were only able to secure a new place to live just yesterday and we're actually going over there in a couple hours to sign the paperwork.
We've got a lot of shit and I don't wanna leave the place a mess so they can have an excuse to charge me for extra bullshit. Are the police gonna come throw us out tomorrow? Or does that deadline tomorrow just start some other kind of countdown?
We can pull off the move by tomorrow night but if it's not dire then I'd rather have an extra day or two to do it right.
I realize state laws can be different so I'm in Alabama. I Googled it but the answers were vague and tended to be more informative for the landlord than the tenant. The notice we received from management was also very vague.
>>16999746
>its not worth getting into but instead of getting into it im going to spent two whole sentences saying its not worth talking about instead of talking about it cuz that somehow saves more time than just talking about it.
as for eviction laws, it depends on where you live, but most places have a sort of squatters rights. im not sure on the true details, but essentially they shouldnt be able to throw you out. if they see you are in fact moving out they wont have much of a problem etiher. they will come and be stern but thatd be the extent of it.
my advice? stop bullshitting about 'do it right'. doing it in the 24 hour period is not doing it wrong, its just more exhausting. get all your stuff and get gone.
They're probably gonna come and put your shit on the sidewalk. Doesn't hurt to ask about an extension especially since you found a place.
>>16999746
Since you won't say what it was that means you're ashamed.
IN Paris. I'm currently in Seattle. I'm 20, still live with my parents. I would really rather them not know.
Should I go to France and not tell them? Book my flight on may 4th, come back may 6th? Ahhhh I don't know what to do.
>>16999731
Should've thought of that before you applied for a job out of the country!
>>16999731
They're going to have to know eventually, because they will have to get you a French work visa for you to work there.
I'm going to guess that you applied online. Didn't the form include your home address?
If not, you're just going to have to tell them where you are. Suggest a Skype interview.
>>16999735
It's not something that would influence my decision in taking the job offer. But just something to think about. Chill lol
>>16999759
THEY will? I'm 20. I made clear that I'm American living in America.

Muscle relaxers/pain meds
I had a first date planned.
She canceled, citing learning she has herpes -> not wanting to infect me.
Is herpes even a big deal? Don't I probably already carry it? Please /med/ me so I can decide whether she's doing me a favor
she was lying
No girl would admit to having herpes; they're too vain.
A cold sore maybe? Legit excuse but not many would be so forthcoming.
>>16999684
1/5 people in america have herpes.
of those people only 1/5 ever show.
of those who show, many only ever get around 3 out breaks in their life.
hardcore people get em once a year, but with medication they are shorter, not as extreme, and not as contagious.
the question now becomes, do you really want to risk getting a lifetime disease for a girl you never even had a first date with?
What should I give my older sister for her birthday? It's coming up and I can't think of a really good gift.
how the fuck should I know?
>>16999668
Her age and interests?
Gift card
UK fag here. I work for a company that recently introduced biometric system to check in and out. We already have RFID cards with us to get into the building (3 doors before you're in) but it wasn't enough for the company. Almost every single worker had to give prints away to a system that is connected to Internet and I am probably the only one that actively refuse to to so. I will most certainly quit if I won't come up with some idea to stick with that RFID card only. I would appreciate if you could give me any advice on how to do so.
tard
My advice on how to quit is to start by hunting for your next job. Contact former coworkers from this or other jobs you've had. They can often give you the inside scoop on available positions and might even put in a good word for you. If you need to take calls during business hours, be discreet.
Keep your cards close to your vest. You want to stay on the best terms with your present employer so that you maximize the information you have at hand. This allows you to wait until the last possible moment before submitting your resignation. Bear in mind that giving notice is not simply a heads-up. It is, in that moment, your resignation. You can be relieved of your responsibilities and privileges that very moment. Don't hand over the letter unless you are ready to be immediately escorted from the premises.
>>16999666
Why did you refuse?
