I dress prepcore, but sometimes I'll wear jeans and plain white sneakers in place of khakis and loafers if I'm going to be walking often. I get a lot of admiring glances, females in stores will compliment me or do that closed-shoulders, glazed eyes and smiling expression. It's one of the easiest things to match colors with desu.
Olive tops go best with similar colors. I'd wear a waffle knit olive henley as your base layer, then the olive sweater, then a M-65 Military Grade Outside Conditions Military Style jacket by Alpha Industries
The pants should be a different color, probably khaki or a very dark navy blue with sand-colored Nike X Shia LeBeouf boots
