What's the difference between two jackets; one is 100% cotton and the other is 70% cotton 30% linen? Will the linen blend one be uncomfortable or something? The linen blend one is half the price of the 100% cotton one.
the linen will wrinkle a lot more and be cooler than cotton. Linen drys faster than cotton though.

Yea I have some beeswax desert Mali's that I coveted for the longest time, and now that I have them, I hardly wear them because I don' really like the way they look. They sort of "deflate" over time, just like my old beeswax desert boots (before they were memetier).

I worked with a few male models in the past that were in their late 20's. Some dressed like children and others looked very aware of what they should be wearing.
With that said, don't wear sneakers and skinny jeans. It's not a good look for older men. You say you aren't old enough for dadcore, but thats exactly how you should be dressing.
Slim-fit (but not skinny) jeans with a pair of boots and a T-shirt. Its casual enough and will look good. Even wearing basics will make you look better than 90% of people in your age range.
The best piece of advice I can give is to stay fit. If your body is good, you can pull off a broader range of clothing.
