Hey there /fa/; I'm a long-time listener, first-time caller.
Anyway I wanted to pose a question:
A lot of the, shall we say, 'high-end' stuff here -- ninjacore, lunarcore, fuccboi, whatever -- the stuff that you guys and gals seem to regard as ideal, at any rate -- all this stuff, anyway; I'm skeptical of whether or not the average person on the street thinks it looks good.
Which raises the larger question: if people think you look 'weird,' or 'faggy,' or whatever other mean adjective they'd attach to your...

The key to wearing these type of clothing is that you do it in big cities or places where there is a fashionably community (lots of artists etc)
If you dressed like that in Iowa or something like that everyone will think you are a huge faggot, or a creep. In New York you'll pass as being into fashion or just eccentric
>>9283577
a lot of people here dress to imitate
none of those things you mentioned here are high-end
and the majority of those look dumb in the street
just learn to balance shit
i dress because i like looking nice to others and because i feel good doing so
so pretty much both
it's not as bipolar as you think
>>9283591
this guy is right
if you want to dress full rick // lunarcore // any other weird style you have to live in big cities that have high concentrations of fashion-interested folk
NYC, San Francisco, and maybe LA and DC are the only american cities where it can really be pulled off
>tfw I hate vapid consumerism
>tfw I have a deep appreciation for person aesthetics
>struggling to find a balance between these two on /fa/
It hurts me. If I buy cheap shoes, I'm going to feel like an idiot for buying shoes that are therefore ugly. If I drop all my money on a high fashion piece, I'll feel extremely wasteful.
How do I handle this?
stop being a faggot
>spending lots of money on things you enjoy
>wasteful
Do you consider being frugal more important than happiness?
Literally "Reddit: The Boots".
Disgusting neckbeard shoes.

/fa/ has very little fashion sense.
Thats not to say many of you cant dress well. You're less original and more insecure about clothing choices than the general public who you look down upon. Many posters seem to rely on the /fa/ circle jerked trends, labels and opinions without ever thinking for yourselves... it may be tasteful in /fa/s eyes, but when I see someone wearing draped monochrome + geos / raf / dbss etc in the streets I cant help but think "unoriginal /fa/ fashion victim".
>>9279984
>draped monochrome
The sad thing is that most of the wannabe goofninjas don't even do that. They buy the most plain and unassuming ricky stuff + geos and think they suddenly are hot shit. Like that guy on your photo for instance. He looks dreadfully boring considering how much dosh he payed for that outfit.
>>9279998
which is only like a few hundred bucks because his geos are fake af
>>9279998
I agree
now that /fa/ has agreed goof ninja is too goofy many are still buying expensive rick and being less adventurous with it (pic related from most recent waywt)
Is it possible to have a career as a designer by just making sketches, without knowing how to sew or make patterns? Example of designers that have done this if any would be appreciated
yes
anyone can be a "designer" though
a successful designer though?
extremely, extremely unlikely and pretty much impossible
threads so needed
someone explain how you become a designer
whats the best stuff to look into
>>9283337
1. go to school
or
2. have connections and get job in related company to learn how 2 make clothes
those are your only 2 options really in today's time
again anyone can "be" a "designer" so if you want advice you're going to have to be a bit more specific than that, and my answer to your possible future questions can be found thru google
This is it, /fa/, this is the year.
I feel like all it's going to take is one big designer to do a lunarcore line and everyone else will copy it and eventually lunarcore will be like what goofninja is right now; looks dope but almost unacceptable in society.

/fa/ I was thinking of putting together a monochrome (ish) preppy wardrobe. It would be reasonable conservative, no 'Go to hell' type garments etc. I already dress similarly and own a lot of clothing on the greyscale, so I thought I could complete it into a sort of style.
I know prep is usually defined by colour, but I think it could be a nice conservative twist - it wouldn't be entirely black/white/grey - possibly some navy and browns thrown in rarely, but that would mostly be the theme.
I'm thinking white oxford's layered under thick...

K Swiss. They look 1 month old after wearing them for 6 years btw. I was still a kid when I first had them. They've been with me through muddy forests, farms, thick snow, driving tests. It's mad.
In fact they might even be 8 years old... My feet stopped growing when I was little.
Post them, other thread is kill.
>>9281261
would be better if the police lines actually wrapped around the whole leg instead of the stitching cutting them up.

repost

Afraid that the top side will look ugly. ;_;
The rest of the shoe looks great though.
hi /fa/,
i've done this like twice before with mixed results, but if anyone would like to ask me anything, i am an 18yo male model who's now pretty established in the fashion industry -- i'm signed out in LA/NY with some of the best agencies out there and -- as of a couple of weeks ago -- I'm also now signed in Seoul, where I'm moving to for 2 months on contract next week. i honestly haven't booked any gigantic campaigns yet thus far in my career / haven't worked with any blue chip designers yet that you guys would be impressed by, but...

Hey Tyler, I follow you on Instagram and I just wanted to say you're an inspiration. Where are you applying to for college? I noticed your SAT score was good as hell
Hey /fa/ can we have a general room design thread? Any sort of wall art, desk assortment, color schemes, lighting, or furniture placement will be greatly appreciated.
