Okay so I’ve got an idea for a setting and would like to hear some critique.
No ruleset yet, just some rough ideas, because I don’t know much about that stuff.
Basically it's a mix of classical european witches with a fair dose of magical girls.
Setting would be in europe or north america between 1600 and 1800.
You would start as a young girl or boy with a daily life, like working on a farm or as a housemaid for a wealthier family.
Eventually you would get in contact with the “white witches” who basically do their thing, try to help people and get spiritual fulfillment or simply satisfy their curiosity.
However they also are at war with the “black/evil witches” who harm the people, made a pact with the devil and are partly at fault that witches get shit all the times(the other would be the church of course).
Now, it is possible for every white witch to become a black witch.
Doing certain things will push you more and more towards that path.
There are harmless things like using certain ingredients for potions(frogs and stuff) or reading in forbidden books(if you can read).
These things would be frowned upon by the white witches, but can get you already in real trouble if you are busted by the common people around you.
There are of course more severe things like blood rituals, cursing, magical manipulation(to make them do evil things) or using your magic to destroy the crop.
Things like that will give you a huge push towards the black witches. White witches probably will see you as an outcast and the common people might put you directly at the stake.

It is a constant battle between doing good things but also being in permanent danger from getting busted by people who just see every with as something bad and therefore might support a “if they give me a hard time I will give them a hard time”-mentality within your character and of course the fights with the black witches but also the temptation of using magic only for you own good.
Threats from the common people could reach from your own family, wary town folks, preachers and even a whole inquisition and organized witch hunt.
As for fighting the black witches you would encounter young witches going renegade, witches who already made a contract with the devil, to full covens of multiple witches maybe even sitting in high position inside the society.

Sounds neat. I recommend using a point based good/evil (white/black) balance system to determine where each character lies. I like the idea of gray witches too.
If black witches get their powers from The Devil, where do white witches get there powers? Are there nonwitch magic users such as priests who can call upon God to undue curses and such?

I'm designing an rpg where characters choose one of eight basic elements of human emotion. Their choice determines what their character will specialize in.
So far I have
Trust - buffing
Fear - defensive
Surprise - stealth
Disgust - debuffing
Anger - offensive
Anticipation - detection
I'm at a loss as to what Joy and Sadness should specialize in that hasn't already been covered by another element. They should be opposites of one another, like the other elements. Any ideas?

You and Hate exit the Officer's mess rather chagrin, having just been firmly and conclusively shut down by the least likely of manlets. Dragging yourselves to the parked SUV, you both look at it listlessly, minds still reeling with recent events.
Hate's little pack of corgis are the first to notice the sound; a kind of polite purring that rolls down the sidewalk. They spring to their feet, flipping their muzzles up. Thirty-odd little white caps tumble through the air before landing squarely between sixty pricked ears. Covered and ready to rock, they watch the curve of the road intently as the purr approaches -
- and cock their heads curiously as the riding mower comes around the curve. Usually a destroyer girl on a riding mower would have them barking and farting for all they were worth, but there's something about the rider that gives even canines pause. The big, broad-brimmed Stetson covering Yuudachi's face is the first clue. The big coil of rope wrapped around her is the second. She tilts her head up to scan the sidewalk, squinting her eyes through shutter-shades - then she guns it past you and Hate, intent on her mission.
You're still looking at her retreating ride when you see Shimakaze strut past. She's hugging a big white metal canister to her chest; it looks vaguely like the bastard child of a milk bottle and a propane tank, and has some sort of mounting lugs on it.
Before you can quite finish processing that, you see Willie go past at high speed, her long, loud wail of horror undergoing doppler shift as she zips by on the sidewalk opposite. A few seconds later, you see -
“What the fuck is that?” Hate asks as something metallic, quadrupedal and fast rips by, hot on Willie's tail, its loud rattling racket fading as it turns the corner.
“... Big Dog?” you ask.
“You're a fucking riot. What WAS it?”
[ ] Pursue Yuudachi. She's up to no good.
[ ] Pursue Shimakaze. She's up to worse.
[ ] Pursue Willie. You just gotta see this shit.

You are Sallazar, a young wizard who has recently left the army. You have taken a teaching job at Egwen Girls Convent.
In addition the Headmaster of the school wants you to run the schools adventurers club, to give some of the schools more unusual girls something fun to do.
“Chame get off the roof of the lightning rail!” you yell “Evrumine, bags in the hold! Janrael if you fall over the side you'll be flying there solo!”
Cleya hefts a heavy trunk belonging to you “Where do do you want this sir?”
“Starboard cabins, number three” you direct her adding “thank you Cleya, you're the only one being helpful today!” and turn angrily away to harangue some of the other club members and thus missing her straighten up proudly despite the too-heavy box she's carrying.
The good part of being on the Dave's payroll as a villain is the money and special access to the dungeons they build. The bad part is sometimes being called on to participate in events at very short notice. Apparently Belgreblor the Immolator is sulking because his mate ran off with a black dragon and is refusing to participate in a 'Fall of the City' event the Daves are running for several schools. You didn't book the girls on it because it's a week-long event and you didn't want to disrupt their studies.
But one thing led to another, the Headmaster was promised the fee Belgreblor had negotiated if the Witch King was the main villain and well, that's how that goes. You'll just have to hold evening classes for the club or something. And for the extra girls that are tagging along. You need to be there quickly so an airship was chartered, one with plenty of extra room, and so you have the aviation club along as well. All told you're responsible for 40 girls on this trip. Well, you, Taynathil, Thunder Drum and Master Telgether.
You're also trying to get the girls onboard an airship and settled, the top of the sun has only just come over the horizon and you've just spent four hours in a lightning rail with three dozen over-excited teenage girls.
You need to sleep, or a large glass of whiskey, or to set something on fire. Thunder Drum and Master Telgether are far too calm but at least you have the satisfaction of seeing the elf looking stressed.
Eventually you all manage to herd the girls onto the ship, and off the rigging, and then you're off, sailing through the skies. You've got a six hour trip ahead of you, and far too many excitable girls. How are you going to spend your time?

There is a hidden area underneath the Division's barracks. This used to be Kurotsuchi Mayuri's secret laboratory, the place where he committed his worst experiments away from the eyes of both the general public and the Division members he couldn't trust. That was decades ago. Now, it's been renovated to suit less illicit activities. But from what you've heard, this place sees little use specifically because of what it once used to be. This is where you're meeting your Division Captain, Urahara Kisuke.
White halls, white walls. The underground laboratory is brightly lit and entirely devoid of people. Urahara Kisuke leads you up to a closed door and then stops, turning around.
"A small prelude first, Ryouta-kun." His voice echoes through the empty hallway. "Before we begin, I need you to become aware of something. If you're trying to get away from what you currently are, perhaps learning about your origins may not do anything to help you. Perhaps it may even serve as discouragement."
"Is that so?"
Urahara nods. He gazes up at the fluorescent lights, a thoughtful look on his face. "It doesn't suit me to be saying something like that, I'm sure you've realized. For the head of the Research and Development Institute to be promoting ignorance is simply blasphemous, isn't it?" After that remark, he looks down to meet your eyes.

Using healing too long after an injury's occurred, OR using shitty tribal healing magic, leaves scars. Some people do it on purpose, because nobody likes a baby-faced grizzled outlaw.

Because they're boys shooting worse than bolters. For 70 points you can buy your grot tax, and you can spend the rest of the points on units to try and win the match.
Do shoota boys have a place? Can be argued, but its a MSU investment of 105 points (without a Nob) just to get the Boy squad and Trukk. It starts to add up very fast and you don't get anything for it.
How do you tell a fighter that he's a member of a respectable party now and he needs to stop dressing like bandit?

It stands to reason that if you have been commanded to awaken before the lord wakes, it is best to wake up quickly. Ash is forming into deposits in your upper core.
You awaken, and the fleshed one is gone. The lights file out of the room and you find yourself alone, at the end of one of many rows of your related models, your brethren. You are Golem, command unit. You have been given orders, and your subservient units have not responded. they are asleep.
