You are Adrian Brown, a twenty five year-old third-year medical student living an otherwise normal American life in search of employment. That was until you woke up inside a direct and demon-infested hospital with four other victims of short-term memory loss. Together, the five of you managed to somehow survive by negotiating with demons and defeating those that were not so amicable. And upon escaping, the all of you realized that it wasn’t as simple as that.
Task Force 666 a multinational organization dedicated to combating hostile demons and those that would use them for ill intentions. And the hellhole you just went through? That was your ‘job interview’, one that you passed with flying colors. When properly offered employment as an agent among the ranks, you accepted without too much hesitation or second thoughts. Duty to humanity and whatnot.
You are now a Devil Summoner in the service of the Task Force, and the de-facto leader of East Coast Operations Rookie Team Three. It is your duty to protect mankind from all threats involving the demonic, but how you choose to carry out your orders is entirely up to you. The choices you make shall not only affect those around you, but the fate of the entire world itself…
[1:37 PM Monday June 29th 2015]
There’s one more place that you have to visit before you can go out on the mission. Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) recommends that every agent should pay a visit to the fusion labs. Even if an agent didn’t have the need to fuse any sort of demons for whichever mission he/she had been assigned, it still never hurt to update one’s personal registry of demons.
Once upon a time, a Demonic Compendium was literally a book with mystic runes and eldritch writings that sought to record a demon’s essence. And Demon Fusion was conducted with magic circles under the moonlight. However, that time was long gone. Nowadays, digital compendiums and fusion units are the way to go.
You’re still a bit confused as to why the manual refers to Mido’s particular floor as the ‘Cathedral of Shadows’. Maybe it was an inside joke of some kind, or one of those things that are still higher than your paygrade.
The five of you step out of the elevator as soon as it hits the destined floor, and follow the signs that point to the cathedral. You can feel a sort of humming that sets your teeth on edge, and a sort of electric charge in the air that causes the hair on your arms to stand up straight. Judging from the way the others are tense, they’re feeling it too.
You find a vacant lab, and shuffle inside. It’s a small space, barely able to accommodate all of you, dominated by a wide series of dials and gauges, buttons and levers. Separated by five inches of reinforced plexiglass, you behold a room thirty by thirty feet lined with cylindrical test-tube-like structures, each going almost one story in height.
Six ‘smaller’ units to contain the fusion materials feed into a ‘larger’ one with various cables and tubes. That is where the expected result of fusion would be by the end of the process.
(cont.)
Sitting in the room’s only chair, a man in his late twenties regards you with a cool expression. If his lab coat is any indication, then he must be one of the staff members in charge of this particular room. But his disheveled appearance and unshaved chin stubble gave him the appearance of a hobo trying to cosplay as a scientist more than anything else.
...okay, that was a bit much. You correct yourself. He doesn't look like a hobo as much as he does a mad scientist. All that was missing was a comic relief assistant that had some kind of speaking disability to complete the guy.
“Welcome to the Cathedral of Shadows,” He intones, adopting a serious gait and demeanor with a dramatic pose. You have to give him points for trying to match the rather…ominous vibes that the Cathedral was pumping into you. “I am the current technician operating this particular room.
“From the weary looks on your faces, I deduce with my genius intelect that you are agents about to go on a mission and not the interns that I ordered lunch from. You must be here to either register your demons, fuse your demons together…or perhaps both. What say you?”
>“…just registration.”
>“Registration and fusion.”

I think OP might be implying that Tau areAbhumans.
Why Dwarves in fantasy love axes so much? I mean I know they are Gimli ripoffs but even in Tolkien works not every fucking Dwarf had an axe I read one explanation that had something to do with their height but that's horsefucking bullfuck as Goblins are also short yet typically they are shown with spears and swords in fact if you're a manlet that's exactly when you need a long weapon the most. So basically - why not spears you fucking Dwarves?
The reason they're shown using axes is not because of their stature. Apply yourself friend.
>>46529031
Ever dwarf I make or play uses spears and stabbing swords. Imagine a hoplite phalanx in a tight tunnel, pushing forward at a walking pace......the hell are you going to do about that?

I'm trying to finish my Thromok deck after some anon asked me when it's going to stop being a work in progress.
I'm trying to use mana dorks and creatures with ETBs to keep artifacts and other annoying stuff under control. I think I need good sac outlets in R/G, and I don't know of any great token producers in R, since I've never built a deck with it.
>>46528452
Most of the good token makers in red are goblin tribal, and goblins go well with being sacrificed, so you may want to consider that. Green is full of good token makers, so you shouldn't have too many issues with this, but green token makers tend to be less efficient than white in terms of number of creatures vs mana needed, so keep that in mind.

Shit. I just copied the old OP. Missed that one. Sorry!
>How common are giants in your setting?
Extinct. They invaded the world of Fairy in ages long past, so the winter court took their war host to destroy them. The survivors were captured instead by Summer, who twisted them into the fomorians.
>Are giants anything more than Large-and-Bigger humanoids?
Not really, no. The tallest people on the planet are, on average, humans. Anything that's taller is a monster of some kind.
>How smart are giants? Are they idiot-brutes swinging clubs? Genius level intellects crafting the finest oversized armor and weapons imaginable? Beyond human comprehension, bordering on Cosmic Horror intelligence? They used to be a great civilization, on par with early 1800s Europe before they were utterly annihilated.
>Can you have Half-Giants? If so are there any genetic problems caused by their unusual birth? Are they mules?
Far as people can tell, no record of half-giants existed. Some speculate that whatever remains of the species became the dwarves, but this is unconfirmed.
>How big can giants get?
Most sources put them at around 14, 15 feet tall, but since even their skeletons are long gone, who knows.
>Does the square-cube law exist in your setting?
Yes it does.
>If it does, how do giants get as big as they are without dying?
They don't. They're dead.

All I've seen of the game is there's a lot of random encounters during a game. I like the idea, but don't know how much it actually bogs the game down.
Why is it acceptable to make yourself immortal by becoming a monk, but not by becoming a lich?
>>46525894
Because undead=evil

Because monks don't need to split their soul to pieces to gain immortality.
Splitting your soul is inherently Evil, by the way.

What's your deck.

Sure familia, I bet you think JtMS would be a "game ender" in Modern too.

>same goes for Abrupt
Thopter Depths was never a deck at a time when Scooze, Decay, and most of Modern's answers and hate existed.
Affinity can barely scrape out solid winrate with SBs packed with artifact rape, but now you're gonna tell me that Sword/Foundry and Tezzeret animating lands is somehow faster?

Nope.

Given that I have a degree in English and posing questions without using question marks is just blatantly incorrect, I guess so? It mostly makes you look like an idiot.
>>46524192
No, it really is a terrible format.
>Humans are most numerous and adaptable of all the races. In fact, it’s their ability to adapt to their environment that’s allowed them to spread far and wide across the world, inhabiting lands alongside all the other races and making new homes for themselves in the harshest environments. Whereas there are a number of traits closely associated with the other races, humans aren’t as easily pigeonholed.
My favorite trope!
It's useful to stuff humans in every corner and crack of the world.
(almost) Everybody has a fundamental understanding about human interactions and social structures,
therefor using it as a state line and comparing all the fantasy races to humans gives players a better understanding of the world.
>>46518800
I'm actually creating a custom science-fiction setting where this isn't true just because of my annoyance with HFY. Matter of fact, in the setting, humanity doesn't even have their own galactic empire but have been subsumed into another one specifically because of that empire's need of their specialized trait.
/tg/ we are about six days off from the end of Homestuck, the longest work in the english language. Has anyone on gods green earth, at any point in the past seven years, made a half decent tabletop rpg system for it?
>>46517427
1. Somebody probably made a shitty one.
2. It's got intentionally obtuse/overcomplicated systems as a running gag.
3. Grab a narrative RPG that uses descriptors, something based on FATE/*World games maybe. Considering the emphasis on ASPECTS and narratively INVOKING them, it should fit nicely.

Drafting SOI is something I'm looking forward to but a meta without Rhinos and fetchlands is gonna feel so nice. I've yet to see a respectable Werewolf deck, and there's gotta be something to the monoblack zombie option I'm not seeing.
Tutelage might finally have some decent targets. Tutelage into Talent of the Telapth into Startle Awake with a Rise from the Tides in hand seems satisfying if I weren't dead from B/R aggro vamps after Startle anyways.

Hello everyone,
I am currently looking for new members for my play by post game, Imperium : Revolution. In our current campaign the party is led by Illyza, an ambitious psyker as she tries to establish a new nation for her kind in a galaxy dominated by a despotic regime. The setting itself has been shaped over the course of multiple campaigns throughout the years and influenced by other series such as Mass Effect, Bioshock, Dune, Babylon 5 and a dash of Warhammer 40k/Rogue Trader as well as many others.
The game itself is based on a simple d20 system with a big emphasis on roleplaying and interaction. PC's will get to choose from 5 classes and have the option of creating their own alien race or using one of the established ones. There is no EXP system currently and level ups are instead handed out at my discretion. What each character gains and how they progress as they level up is based on how the character was played. They can also gain access to new abilities based on skill set and play style and may even gain customized ones unique to them.
I'd be happy to answer any questions anyone might have

It's VtR in the 80's, set in NYC
The dragon kidnaps the slighty over-weight bakers daughter instead of the princess. The king gives zero fucks.
At least if we save her, we'll probably get Free Bread for Life, so we'll never run out of food.
I'd still help out, the baker's daughter deserves to be saved just as much.

The baker's daughter and her plump rump are saved by a knight, who ignores her nice hips and full bust, shakes her hand and leaves for another adventure.
Why would anyone willingly fight for the Imperium? It only demands but gives nothing back if you're a commoner you might as well be a slave I'm surprised every planet didn't turn to Chaos yet.
