Who /writing/ here? How do I begin to write, throughout school people always complimented my writing skills as one of my talents. Thing is, I really hate writing. But I've got nothing else going for me, so how do I even get started?

I finished writing my book a few weeks ago, but I'm trying to make a few short stories to generate interest and because nobody wants to read a book by some unpublished dingus.
I'd say just start out writing small stuff to generate ideas, and don't be afraid to delete the bad shit

My dad died when I was nine years old. My mother never remarried. It was tough raising two kids alone but she never sought attention or "love" from anyone that wasn't the man she married.
If you don't mind raising someone else's kid and canceling plans because something with the spawn came up then sure. There's also the father to worry about.
