it relaxes you and enhances your senses so it makes things like listening to music or eating feel great. it can also help you gain new perspectives on things and think more creatively/abstractly. some cons of this are it can cause unpleasant thoughts to come to the forefront of your mind or make you anxious but that doesn't happen to most people.
