I don't know about landing or taking the impact other than legs together, but I'm a lifeguard in training and I have always been told to never panic when deep underwater. You're more likely to remain conscious if your lungs are full of air than the latter.

Your friend was talking about it in more complex terms than it has to be. It's simple. Being around someone optimistic and happy is better than around someone who is constantly dragging you down with their negativity. No need for these energies.

OP here i'll give a little more context about it because I still don't get it that much. Apparently I am neutral, one of our friends is positive and everyone else is negative, what I don't get is isn't neutral a useless term here. I think that if someone is willing to gather up that much time, courage and commitment, it would be better spent becoming some kind of walking demigod. This sounds like a subconscious way to avoid having to lose weight. You've got it backward; you're not going to get a girlfriend as a fatass. At least not the sort you're probably hoping for. By setting an unlikely goal you're just pushing back the timetable on weight loss.
Plus the vast majority of weight loss comes from what you eat. Eat a reasonable quantity (1900 Calories) of healthy foods (lean meats, vegetables/beans, limited starches, no liquid calories) every day and the weight will evaporate. How will having a girlfriend help you with that since, for at least the amount of time it'll take to lose the weight, you'll only be sharing an occasional meal with her? It's the other 90% of the meals you eat which will determine the course of your weight loss.
Get your body together first. Then fix your personality. Then get a girlfriend.
