So I've recently started talking to a girl in one of my classes at University and am not sure if she's interested romantically or not. I recognized her from around campus and started sitting next to her a few days ago. She's an easy 8+/10 and seems really chill. Whenever we're talking either during class or when I'm walking with her to her next class she seems entertained and genuinely interested in what I'm saying (I wouldn't say she's overboard with it but she definitely laughs when I say anything witty and shares several common interests with me including a few hobbies and the same major). I consider myself pretty average looking in all areas but I don't want to make things awkward if things don't work out. In an effort to get her number the other day after class I mentioned we have a test coming up in the class we share and suggested that we get together and study sometime. She agreed, said definitely and gave me her number. During class today I asked her if she had any plans for the weekend and she said "This weekend is Valentine's Day so I'll probably drink a bottle of wine alone. Haha jk, I'll probably hang out with some friends." She also randomly mentioned today that she wants to go see Deadpool sometime. I don't know if bringing up some of that was just coincidence or if she's hinting that she'd like to go see it with me? She also confirmed after class today that we could get together early next week and study somewhere. I would've already asked her out if I didn't have to work all of Friday and Saturday this weekend. I see her again in class this Friday so I was hoping to gather some opinions/advice for what to do next. I was planning on maybe waiting til after we hang out next week and asking her out to go see Deadpool maybe Wednesday/Friday of next week since I don't have work next weekend. Its also crossed my mind to potentially ask her out on this Friday to see the movie on Sunday if she was available since its V-Day. Any advice is appreciated.

Hmmmm. I can't help but feel like you should wait till after Valentine's Day. Simply because I feel like if you go to the movie on Sunday it may be like.. A big deal since it's on Valentine's Day and you guys don't know each other that well. I don't know. Have you seen a psychiatrist about depression treatment? It doesn't have to stay this way.
There really is hope for recovery from depression. It's the most common mental illness, and there are all kinds of different treatments that might work for you -- antidepressants and cognitive behavioral therapy are what people usually start with, but if those don't work there's still transcranial magnetic stimulation and electroconvulsive therapy and vagus nerve stimulation and such, and off-label drugs which can be used to boost an antidepressant such as Abilify or Concerta.

hey guys i just need to get this off my chest so im not sure whats wrong with me, never been professionally diagnosed. But i feel depressed, i fucking hate life. im not sure why but its been like this for over 5 years now. its so easy to ACT happy and wear a smile while im dying on the inside. i've never told this to anyone.Honestly, my life is pretty damn good. Rich and loving family, lots a friends, decent looking, fit, etc. Yet none of this makes me happy. the only thing that keeps my mind off of things is skateboarding. i think about killing my self atleast 20 times a day but there are obviously reprocussions that wil affect my family and friends. This is the only thing keeping me alive. i need help guysc, i feel like dying....
Ever since middle school I have had moderate anxiety which used to majorly affect my school life before I received treatment for it. This was also around the time I started to feel depressed (my 2 year old sister was battling cancer, she is several years in remission now though.) I'm now 18 and about to graduate high school, but I'm having trouble finding any inspiration to continue living. I have no friends, I feel as if I won't be able to hold a job due to these mental health issues and I'm starting to get very worried about my future. Have any of you been in a similar spot? How did you handle it?
See a mental health professional. Psychiatrists and therapists are really helpful for these kinds of issues.

I have been to several, none have been all that much help. One literally told me to "Just stop being anxious." I just thought I might be able to find inspiration from people with similar experiences.
The best way to solve the anxiety problem is to face your fears. It's only effective way.

Was a straight-A nerd at school, got my master's degree...and I've been working in the same retail store for almost 10 years. I get up, work for 8-10 hours, go home and just think about how shitty my existence is before I go to sleep and get up at 5am to repeat 6 days a week.

the biggest thing about milestone birthdays is they just make you feel like you need to do something spectacular. you know what's going to happen, you're going to wake up on your birthday and feel the same as ever have, with the shitty caveat that you have to tell people you're 30 now.

How would you approach girls/women on college campus?
I'm 27 and started going to college last Monday. My story is probably typical of most 4channers. Loner, no life in HS, hardly any friends, rarely spoke to girls and still a virgin. I dropped out of one of my classes partly because I couldn't pay for the textbook but also because I was scared shit less of these oral reports we were to do.
In my first day at Pol Science, our teacher asked us to do introduce ourselves and that just made me sweat bulllets. I wouldn't have frozen and knew what i was going to say, but I just couldn't stop the nervousness. I think it was even visible to the teacher cause he ended up skipping me and going to the next, which just made me even more nervous... I'm just too aware of everyone around me and I guess paranoid.
