The medical condition known as "depression" just doesn't exist.
Of course you can feel depressed i.e sad if you are socially isolated or have a shit diet, but the idea that depression comes from some magic internal function is ridiculous
The whole "chemical imbalance" nonsense came from the monoamine theory formulated in the 1970s which holds very little ground.
If you are sad from being isolated, just say that you are lonely. If you are sad from a shit diet and exercise, just say that you are malaised. If you are sad from staying up all night, just say that you are fatigued.
People who say they are depressed are usually attention whores who want people to feel sorry for them for being struck down by this horrible illness beyond their control. But most of the time, is is in their control. Stop drinking 3 energy drinks a day and wondering why you feel "out of sorts".
I get that getting a social life might be hard, and that's fine. But stop chalking it up to depression.
Depression is just a thing that rich, privileged stacies use to feel like they are oppressed. You can't prove depression, and the only way to diagnose it is with a 5 question questionnaire. It's the perfect thing to pretend. Why do you think more women are diagnosed with depression? Because women are born attention whores.
