Chances are you'll be heavily regulated by KPIs (targets) to ensure you don't fuck about.
If you find it easy to chat to strangers it will be an easy job. If social interactions stress you out - especially if getting chewed out or hung up on will bother you - then it is not the job for you.

I've been in a long term relationship with this guy. He is extremely intelligent and talented, very handsome, but he has a drinking problem.

On Friday I had to do a presentation for finals in front of my whole class . My laptop was just connected to the projector through HDMI and I didn't look to see what was on the screen . I love alcohol. You could probably say that it's my hobby. I'm an extremely functional alcoholic.
However, I'm aware that it's going to start impacting my health, and I have very distinctly noticed that my party lifestyle is having a negative impact on the people around me - who try to keep up and then get themselves into trouble.
I don't think I can really completely abstain from drinking, but are there resources out there for me to learn to mitigate the amount I drink?

You could start brewing your own alcohol. Assembling a functional distillery isn't quite as difficult as it sounds, and although you'll be producing paint stripper at first, growing your own ingredients and experimenting with recipes could be a lot of fun.
If you get to the point where you could limit your drinking only to things you make yourself, you'd end up drinking a lot less and feel a lot more satisfied.
I did the same thing with smoking a few years ago. Ended up 100% self-sufficient...

you watch movies? write / film one.
you read books? write one.
play video games? design one.

If you are ONLY attracted to their sense of humor, speech defects, and gestures then yes it's PROBABLY infatuation - but these attractions can obviously also exist if you really do love someone.
IMO the line between love and infatuation comes when you can come to really understand and accept someone's flaws yet still care deeply for them and when you can honestly think "This is my partner (in life)." Marriage and all of that other stuff is when you formalize it, reinforce...
