I can´t stop ruminating on bad thoughts and memories. I made a bad decision some months ago and I just can´t stop thinking about; it´s on my mind every single day. Sometimes it´s just for 1 or 2 minutes and I can put those thoughts on the back of my mind, but other days it affects my mood in a brutal way. I´ve tried to let it go because the reality is that I can´t fix the situation, but so many times it comes back to make me very sad.

I tried spending as much time as I can with friends, I tried reading a lot, I tried to overcome those nagging thoughts by writing songs, I tried sleeping with other people, I tried occupying myself with manual labor like fixing a stairway and putting up shelves, but nothing has worked so far.

You are certainly depressed, but it might not be "severe". It would take someone qualified to tell you for sure, although I personally lean to saying you are fairly severely depressed.
