I moved 8 hours away from home with my fiance(we moved because she got a job over there). It's been over a year and I(we) still haven't made friends here. I was so use to making friends at my job or through other people i knew but I can't seem to make any here. Part of the problem is I'm pretty introvert and I have no idea where to meet people.

Spend time with your wife but perhaps try making friends on your own aswell on your free time. Do some activities alone while she is chasing different hobbies.

problem is she works nights and I work days. we spend most of our free time together but when our free time isn't coinciding then most of the time I'm alone at home or trying not to wake her up.
Not sure where(or even how) to go to make friends. The only places I've been that i think i could find people with similar interest is a couple comic book stores, barnes and noble, the local library, and some gamestops. No luck.
Not sure how i feel about volunteering because I work a 40+ hour/week...

When i got married i lost all my friends, most actually and i lost some of my social skills.
If you want to make friends you are very unlikely to do so by going to gamestops or anything like that. With volunteering i mean for example be a security guy at a village event or provide some help at your local concert. Find a hobby, like rc cars with actual fuel, chances are that you likely meet someonewith the same interest on a sunday at a parking lot.

Wife's mom is suddenly hospitalized with a sepsis and pneumonia. Yesterday it was a UTI she supposedly didn't even notice because she has multiple sclerosis, which causes numbness in that region.
Fambly is nagging wife to get the hell down there asap. These people apparently are "sitting with" my mother-in-law in the ICU. The lab work isn't even back yet. Why would a hospital allow this? I'm telling wife not to go at very least until the lab work is back.
Would you let your wife sit in a room with someone who has bacterial pneumonia?...

Your lot sounds good to me. Just had a mate purchase a GTX 1080 FE. Did some benchmarking on my rig and scored 4600 in unigine valley on extreme hd settings. Fantastically powerful card.

Like I mentioned before, I haven't had plenty of opportunities to meet women when I've been sober. I think I can make an effort to be flirtatious and pull it off, I'm just really prone to being awkward.

I've never owned a reference GPU and have never been interested since people always talk about how shitty they are but I'm sitting here without a GPU and have a real urge to go out on the 29th and get a reference RX480.
Are the reference cards really as bad as they say? People often use them for SLI/XF so they can't be THAT bad, right?
One thing I really loved about my previous card (ASUS 760 DC2OC) was that it was totally silent while idle. Are there any reference type card that also utilize "0db"/silent when idle or are the fans always active?

I doubt they'll drop more than marginally considering the launch price. The only reason for holding out would be to buy an AIB card with better cooling. Rumor has it that the RX480 is pretty low in power consumption so hopefully the reference design will be good enough to cool it down.

Put down clubs and associations down as well such as if you were part of the Boy Scouts. IF you also received awards as well or certifications, do that too.

How important is banal conversation in social interaction? Can you have friends and a girlfriend without engaging in much, if any, banal conversation?
I'm asking because I have moderate autism and it's very hard for me to engage in banal conversation because of it. Does it mean that I shouldn't even hope to have lasting friendships and romantic relationships?

the thing is, what you call banal conversation is not really without it social function.
It allows you to get an easy insight into the other persons personality, recent activities, the latests of your groups dynamics etc.
Also, relationships should be based on love, not common interests, those only help to facilitate the love.
Banal things do not exist. That's subjectivity.
If you can't derive any value from something, then you are simply looking at it the wrong way. Value is never innate, it's something we create. Learn to find value in what you find boring, and you will also learn how to excel at it.
