That doesn't sound like a fairweather friend. It sounds like someone who is really uncomfortable around and unequipped to deal with personal tragedies. He's either not had a lot of them in the past or has experienced way too many. Either way, the last impression that I'd get is that this is personal.

This. I'm exactly the same as your friend. I feel for you, truly, but I'm not equipped to express it. Lost my best friend in college when his girlfriend died tragically and I tried to give him space while I took up doing all the house chores and his class work. I just didn't know how to verbally comfort him and we drifted apart because of it.

This entire situation is unusual. Stop looking at her Facebook. Stop thinking of contacting your ex. Stop freaking out.

I probably wouldn't unless somehow the picture is having a real negative effect on your life (like she's slandering your name in the comments). It's best to leave bad break ups in the past and move forward with your own life.

Take tons of photos of yourself and get same face. It's good for confidence in photos. You know how it will come out and it's not really a new photo. It's just another angle on the same take.

My understanding is that youtube is best to do 16:9 on because you don't get black bars (top bottom). But some find that appealing. But obviously you can just add those.
3:2 and 4:3 is going to have them. I don't see the point in shooting like that. It's vine tier aspect ratio choice. It looks terrible on YouTube.

Any specifics about the project?

Also I'm uneducated, I've just played around with server-side video processing and done a few crappy youtube videos. Best video has 11k in 7 years lol.

I was thinking that. I tried a test video in 3:2 and it was sort of boxed in. I suppose it made people view it in wide screen to get the best experience of it.

It's just a short horror thing. I studied film a few years ago and kind of fell away from it with other stuff taking up all my time. I'm going to get back into making shorts, but I'm starting with something easy.
One location, minimum dialogue and two actors. Pretty simple stuff.

Ok. I think that most people who do horror mainly do narrow shots. That's the impression I have. So you want 16:9 most likely (because 4:3 is just ugly so it's not an option) but I find movies that don't follow such conventions to be much more interesting. A wider aspect ratio could be more interesting. More engaging because you're not as used to it. Might even make the impression of he world different. Should probably do some testing and consider this a bit.
I don't know any of the terminology so I can't express what I find appealing well. But my impression of most artsy educations is to teach you what works and what doesn't. It's your excursions into the unknown that are interesting.

Even abstract art has technique, after looking at your pic for five seconds I was able to deduce that you used MS paint, the circle tool, poorly resized the circles and didn't even align the lines properly, if they conveyed something by being crooked fine, but it clearly doesn't.

If you really want to fake it properly, you should at least put some sort of effort into it. That means using proper tools like Adobe Illustrator with a good resolution and print quality.

Next problem is assuming rich people go buying art from complete nobodies on ebay. Banksy had an art sale in new york pretending he was a bullshit local artist and sold his art for 20-80$ a pop, when he revealed they were actually his the value jumped 5000% (bullshit statistic, lets just say a very high number)

If you really want to bullshit people, you need to make a name for yourself and have some sort of standard for quality. Upgrading from MS paint and submitting your art to galleries as opposed to ebay will gain you some sort of noriety, and thus value.

This is coming from someone who just barely understands art, someone who is willing to spend tens of thousands of dollars will scrutinize works even more fiercely, and this is especially because they know for each high-artist out there there's fifty hacks trying to do what you're doing.

Also the definition of that art piece is juvenile at best, you should try way harder.

Have the distance of the lines represent something, maybe have them thinner the more they are apart, to represent stretching or a tenuous grasp, maybe have a bunch of smaller circles together form some sort of pseudo circle, anything that requires some fucking thought.
