What is /tg/'s favorite TGC ?
Yu-Gi-Oh!
Magic the Gathering or
Pokemon
My favorite is Yugioh

Yeah, I used to like Pokemon TGC when I was in 2nd-3rd grade,I noticed that the only thing people did was trade and never battled, because nobody knew who to play it,the kids that had the "best " cards where the rich ones who can afford all the individual legendaries/Foils/EX's. I started to play Yu-Gi-Oh around 6th grade and loved it, it had a nice balance of Battling and Collection, and they were MUCH cheaper, sam thing with MTG at 10th grade and now occasionally play MTG but mostly play Yugioh
>>45770211
I play occasional friendly EDH games with some local guys, but I play "meta" yugioh.
though I play petdecks against meta.

It was your last day in high school as you would be moving out on your own. You swing your backpack over your shoulder as you bade your teacher and classmates goodbye.
You head out of the main office and into the afternoon sun as students are boarding buses or waiting for the next round of buses to roll in. You hang with your friends until they board their buses before you start heading home.
You reach home as you say hello to your parents as you head upstairs and drop your backpack beside your bed as you see a rectangular box in a present on your desk. You pull the ribbon off and lift the lid revealing a dusty old leather bound book.
It belonged to your grandfather if the tag was anything to go by. You skim through the pages as you read an unreadable text but there were pictures of fantasy like races, Elves, Orcs, Dwarves, and a whole slew of other species were in fine detail on many of the book's pages.
However a small passage was in the back page, "Govu motre bryt lufatoh yuloah". The book flashes as you are enveloped in a blinding light as you feel everything shift.
You wake up on a soft patch of grass as trees save about in the background. You look around as you spot a river beyond the bushes, a crumbled stone road fallen into disrepair, and an old animal trail running into the trees.

Last time, on Feral Necromancer Quest: After learning of some remnants of the ancient elven civilization, you set out with the elven elder, and your own elven allies to establish a diplomatic relationship with them. The arrogance and the sense of entitlement of the elves of your Alliance was nothing in comparison to those of the ancient elves in the white city, and you very nearly came to blows. Your diplomatic meeting was interrupted by a prison break- elven prisoners, kept in suspended animation had broken out, and you went to deal with the outbreak. You were partially successful, re-capturing and executing a large portion of the inmates, however the worst of them got away. You also awakened an ancient Warden, which followed the psychotic enchanter-conjurer that escaped. Upon returning home, portents of war took your attention, and that is where the thirty fifth installment of the Feral Necromancer Quest concluded.
The Cast:
Vlad Tepish: You, a necromancer and a shaman of great skill. You achieved your immortality, and your true form is now that of a black dragon. You hold the tie-breaker vote in the Council of Elders of the Alliance.
Bathory Tepish: Your lover and the mother of your child. She is a cunning diplomat in her own right, and she has become the chronicler of the Alliance.
Mihnea: Your ten year old daughter. She is starting to realize that your magic is cool, even if it is not like in the stories. Self-confident and rash, you have made sure she is given all the best education.
Lathrien: A Vampire and your erstwhile apprentice, the young elf has grown into a formidable man. A master of discipline and illusion, he can become all but invisible when he wishes to do so, and his mind is honed to a razor's edge.
Melandie: Your best tracker, scout, and an elven berserker, she is a complicated person. She wields a runed greatsword and a greatbow into battle, and has been making friends among kobolds and gnolls to the exclusion of her own race.
Korg: Your orcish blackguard, he is bound to your will. Wielding a massive warhammer, he likes nothing more than to use it. A creature of simple pleasures and direct methods he is a terrifying warrior. Your daughter has taken a liking to him and calls him 'Uncle Korg'.
Halivean (Hal): Your elven blackguard, he is fanatically loyal to you. Strong, fast and clever, he is a terror on the battlefield, but he excels at leading your undead into combat.
Necorax: A spirit of a black dragon, bound to a body the size of a squirrel. Clever and subversive, she serves as your adviser and secretary, though she was meant to be a play-mate to your daughter.
Karist: Dwarven runesmith and elder.
Spot: Gnoll rogue and boss.
Vlad the Kobold: Kobold leader.
Amythrien: Elven craftsman and elder.
Sheila: Human elder from your village.
Housekeeping:
The hiatus is over, hopefully for good.

When you returned to your hold, it was immediately clear that your enemies had made a move of some sort. The entire place was in an uproar, soldiers running back and forth, civilians looking scared and confused, and smoke stacks on the horizon. The enemy is certainly not within the gates, but a blow has been struck.
>Just ask the first coherent person you find what happened.

History, as you've come to learn, keep a great many things secret, for good or for ill. Sometimes, these secrets come to light – secrets like the ruins of the central mountains, uncovered after countless generations buried beneath stone and soil.
Garl Yamada, the local priest of Titanos, managed to be both thrilled and miserable at the news. There would be a great many more visitors to his sleepy town in the coming days and, while he complained at great length about it, you detected a certain excitement about him. There was even talk of an academic expedition, to fully explore the ruins.
Your own enthusiasm faded quickly. Excavating the ruins fully would need funds and personnel, more than the Nameless Temple could gather on short notice. The Emperor would need to be involved – although you're willing to bet that he'd have agents inside any party you could gather regardless. The thought of the Emperor getting his hands on whatever secrets might lie there, in the ruins, fills you with unease. Even now, sitting in your candlelit chamber in the Nameless Temple, you can't quite relax. A knock at the door, then, and you welcome them inside. Howa, weighed down by an unopened bottle.
Wordlessly, you nod to her and fetch a pair of cups.
>>45757513
The first round is spent in silence. Uncorked, the bottle offers a scent of strong alcohol – without any of the depth or delicacy that you'd expect from Howa's choice of drink – and it goes down like a liquid punch. Shuddering, already getting red in the face, Howa refills both cups.
“I spoke with the Mentor,” she says after a moment, “So he knows that we know what... he knows.” A chuckle, only slightly forced, escapes her as she trots out that ridiculous sentence. “He said we need to be better, better than our ancestors and that way we'll get the gods we deserve. Blood sacrifice, human sacrifice... that's all in the past now, isn't it?”
A image flashes through your memory – the nameless Wanderer, their face slashed, laid out on Titanos' alter – as you take a deep drink to cover your wince. You'll tell the Mentor in the morning, and see what he has to say about things.
“So a little bird tells me that they've found something out in the hills,” Howa changes the subject quickly, a twinkle coming into her eye at the thought of untapped mysteries, “The Mentor wants us to wait – he had a lot of birds sent out though, so he's up to something. Sent one to the capital as well, addressed to the Emperor. Looks like we're going to be building some bridges.”
It makes sense, in a way – extending the hand of friendship and all that – but you see it in a more cynical light. There's no way of keeping the Emperor out of this business, but this way you might be able to limit the knowledge that leaks out. Burying the truth doesn't sit quite right with you, but...
“Thinking deep thoughts?” Howa raises an eyebrow, “What do you think about this?”
>I'm sure the Mentor has his reasons
>The old man is making a big mistake
>It's the right choice, we need to cooperate on this

>Good, it'll only make it easier to investigate what the Emperor knows about the recent....happenings.
>Titanos, he didn't WANT sacrifice, not the rage that overcame him.
good night Moloch.
>>45757521
>>I'm sure the Mentor has his reasons
Someone is making a concerted effort to destroy the nameless temple. First the Melancholia incident, then a wanderer being attacked and sacrificed to turn Titanos into a monster. Not too mention the missing apprentices. We can't afford to alienate the Emperor, but I can't help but feel either he, or someone claiming to follow his word has a hand in this. It worries me.

There are a lot of bones in the human body.
You never had to pick up a whole skeleton piece by piece before, but doing so made it abundantly clear that there are a lot of bones, many of which are quite small and easy to lose. Unfortunately you had little choice but to throw them all in the sack, and they got mixed. You hope Tahenohan has a way of picking them apart from each other, but being a necromancer this is probably a piace of cake to her.
Human bones are also very heavy when added together, and three skeletons in a single sack are too many to carry across a long distance. Or any distance, really. Bryld really has to exert herself to cover any meaningful amount to carry it, and the sack isn't suited for the two of you to share its weight like, say, a basket. Before today you never would have thought that baskets are better suited than sacks to carry the remains of multiple human bodies, you have to admit that necromancy teaches you a lot of things.
Mostly useless things, but still.
The late morning's sun is starting to heat up the air quite a bit, making this kind of work even less comfortable than it already is. You often take breaks while returning so as not to strain your back; that sack is very heavy even for you, and even if you're more used to physical labour than Bryld is, it's a quite different sort of weight lifting than what you were used to do, and much less practical. Eventually, you get back to the village outskirts and come in sight of the cheesemaker's house, still in construction.
And Tahenohan is not alone, there are two boys with her, one young enough to be shorter than she is. You can't quite tell what they're talking about from this distance.
“What is she doing?”, Bryld wonders.
“Making cheese”.
Bryld gives you an odd look, but even from this distance it's undeniable that she's doing honest craftswork and nothing sinister.
>Bring the sack to her.
>Hide the sack here, fetch it later.
>Ask Bryld what to do.

Is it possible to have a game with great concentrations of sex and sexuality and that kind of stuff without it immediately devolving into creepy, juvenile, or some other generally fucked-up territory? I mean, I find it hard to imagine people wouldn't have lots of weird sex in fantasy, with all the different races and magic and shit going on, and living in a world like Oglaf just seems like a funny thought instead of a reason to jerk off.
I mean, we're all reasonable adults here, instead of teenagers, aren't we?
>>45757053
No, it's not going to work without creeping people out. You are a fat man at a table with other people.
An RPG is a social event. There are lines you don't cross, man. This is why we don't re-enact the scenes from The Damned on the tabletop.
>>45757053
Yes, but if you're asking that question, you can't do it. It's like jazz; if you have to ask, you'll never know. /tg/ is full of "how do I include X in a game without making it too magical realm," and the fact that they're asking that question shows that all they want is an excuse to indulge in their sexual obsessions around friends who don't share them and don't want to.
Perfect example: female characters. Of course it's possible to have a female character who isn't cringeworthy, and authors who are just looking to write something good can do that with no problem at all. But everyone who asks "how to I play a female character" is really asking "how do I get away with playing a female character who is nothing more than an outlet for my sex drive?"
>>45757053
Is everyone at the table fucking? Some sort of polyamorous arrangement could maybe make this work, but the idea of sitting with platonic friends and all of us play-acting sexual situations just seems very off.
Hello guys. I have a problem. Got myself Chaos Gate recently, but the game always crashes when the cultists shoot at my dudes. I've read up on all possible fixes on the problem, but nothing seems to work. Is there any way I can do, to make it work? I run it on win7 in compatibility mode.

I'm convinced that MtG players don't understand basic economics.
Seriously guys, the only reason why cards like Fetchlands, Liliana, and Tarmogoyf are so expensive is because you are all willing to pay those prices.
So MtG players: here's how to lower card prices: STOP PAYING RIDICULOUS PRICES!
Okay I'll just hivemind the other thousands of people who play into not buying or selling at high prices.
Reasonable solution OP, we should do that with oil too.
>>45753797
Everything's price is artificial in magic. The problem is thousands of people will pay 75 dollars for a fetch land because wotc hasn't reprinted the Zendikar ones in their reprint sets.
They're also staples of the format, so people will pay more for something of noteworthy value in the game.
>>45753811
People can try to sell at high prices all they want. If people don't buy at those prices, vendors will be forced to lower the prices.
