I'm 25 and you should try to find something to focus on that you enjoy. For me it's video games. I love video games, and it's my life goal to have an almost encyclopedic knowledge of every game that's at least playable. It gives me purpose, and I enjoy what I do, even if other people would think it's weird.

If you have NEVER coded before, it is an awful excuse for a teacher. Pick up any textbook (find one with online resources, if you absolutely must have something to compare your answers to) and work through every chapter and exercise.
If you're at a CS101 level in any other language, it'll teach you the basics of the syntax, but (with the exception of a relatively thorough explanation of splicing) it won't really hit the nuances of the language.
