Well I kept lifting for more than a month after I first felt the pain (ignoring problems, shitty personality), that might have played a role. I tried various treatments during an eight-month period (laser, ultrasound, exercises). None of them led to any significant improvement. Finally I got an injection of hyaluronic acid into my arm, that improved it a great deal, but didn't totally fix it, and it also makes the tendon weaker. I'm almost pain free now in everyday activities (not something I care about though, since I still can't work out), but the pain would likely come back if I started lifting hardcore.
