I can't forgive my parents for letting me stay a NEET. I was a NEET for 3 years! I then forced myself to get a job and moved out. I used to stay in my room doing nothing but shit posting. And playing vidya, and watching movies. The change came after watching the anime series "Welcome to the NHK." The ending is what got me. He concluded that being a hikikomori is a luxury. That if your basics, food and shelter are not met, you have no choice but to work. I then broke free from the evil chains of inactivity and went out to work. I had to go and beg for a menial job and it took much work to get it. And I was so grateful. People who always had work do not appreciate it. They complain about having to work at 5 am, or commuting 4 hours. They are just spoiled.
But so was I, my parents let me rot in my room for 3 years. Precious years wasted. I hate them for it. When I confront them they say that I was 18 and adult and did my own choices. But I disagree, age means nothing. If one is drunk or senile he is in a special state which makes him vulnerable. Being a NEET and having your basics secure is the same, is it not? Perhaps you need to have experienced being a hikikomori to get this.

When we took an IQ test in middle school I was pretty amazed to score almost a perfect 100. I never thought of myself as a genius, but after that test, a lot of things seemed to make more sense, like how I had a hard time relating to normal minds, and how I would get bored easily. In some ways, I think I would have been happier never knowing, and being able to live around normal people. But some things can't be undone.
