Small problem. Ex keeps popping up in my dreams, when I intent to forget about her. Been 2 years since we broke up after a 3 year relationahip. Have new girlfriend for 1.5 years. I'm happy.

There are probably some cultural differences when it comes to this but where I live touch is something very intimate and generally only shared by couples and close relatives. So I would say that she was showing some clear signs of affection towards you.

My apartment building is being inspected by the city of Los Angeles in about a month. Tomorrow, the landlords are coming in to do a pre-inspection. They told us on friday. My roommate's boyfriend keeps his snake in our apartment and we're not allowed to have pets. Unfortunately they went out of town for the weekend, and despite my roommate's boyfriend telling me someone was going to come to take the snake, no one has. I want to start learning Mandarin and all of the schools around me are expensive as shit, are there any good resources any of you have used and had success with?
There's a lot of videos with Chinese audio and subtitles on the net. You might even find some with English audio.
A good source for such content is Tudou but YouTube might also work.
For content of varying nature news sites like Xinhua have bilingual articles.
If you're of the weebish inclination, there are sites like dm5 that might cater to your tastes.
With regards to dictionaries, MDBG might do the job.
For learning characters try spaced repetition software like Anki.

Look up for the book "Remembering the Hanzi" which introduces the "Heisig method" for learning how to remember complex characters.
It's a great and easy way to memorize how to identify and remember complex Chinese and Japanese characters very quickly.
Trying to memorize the characters through repetition just doesn't work for most of us so the method really helps.
However do understand that learning how to identify and remember character doesn't that you'll learn...

Alright guys, so I posted a thread like this a year or so ago and it got mixed answers so I'm trying again.
I would like to sleep more. Particularly, I would like to be asleep almost all the time that I am not required to attend work or college. My plan would be this:
For the rest of the semester, I only need to be awake between 6am-3pm on weekdays. After that, I have no obligations until the next day. On Saturdays and Sundays I only need to be awake from 6am-noon, maybe 1pm. I can manage to get exercise in the times I've alloted as well, or give myself...

Or I can become a cars salesman. I never really considered sales before, but my buddy who works at the local Honda dealership told me i would make bank over there. He's shown me various commission checks (is the last two weeks he made $2200) and claims to have made $40,000 in the past 6 months. It's for commission only though, so no base salary....

It's only cringy if you're up in people's faces about liking it, if you dress in anime/vidya clothes, play your portables in public, etc. In short, keep it to yourself, unless you're with other people who also like it. At a convention, you'd be more out of place if you didn't, for example.

So my gf is now a month and 1-2 weeks late for her period... If the tests are still negative am I in the clear??
She was on birth control she switched pill types the month she missed her period but stil no period. She said she doesn't have any signs so with the tests being negative am I safe? The test would have to be positive by now right? We've taken at least 10-15 tests all negative

Find someone in your area that offers it. It's super cheap and affective.
I knew a girl who would pull her hair out (which is same kind of problem as biting your nails). She started the EEG and it really helped her hair pulling.
May sound silly but if you're serious about fixing it you should give it some research atleast.
