Anyone here cried?
I didn't, but I got misty-eyed at opening text crawl, Han's first appearance, Death Star fucking shit up, and the ending.
>>63822862
got misty eyed when Han met Leia again mostly because of the music though.
What the fuck was he doing down there
>>63823031
Same thing all wise hermits do for an entire movie before they show up in Star Wars.
Going slightly fucking insane.
Wait until he starts talking in riddles and offers Rey a plate of bugs to eat.
At least we can all agree that TFA was worse than prequel movies. At least prequels were trying to do something new. At least prequels have a good score. At least prequels have a soul and were not designed by corporate fucks to get as much money as possible.
Lucas wanted to kill his creation with the prequels, now it has come back to haunt him

hi, reddit
If you marathoned Star Wars before seeing the new movie, friendly reminder that
IV-->V-->I-->II-->III-->VII
is the order of the gods and the only acceptable order of viewing.
>>63822628
>he forgot rotj
Hi grandpa, you should start from episode I, it's the first episode for a reason
>>63822646
I didn't forget it. You shouldn't watch that one, because it's complete shit and easily the worst in the series.
>Earlier today, the US House of Representatives passed a 2,000-page omnibus budget bill that contains the entirety of the controversial Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act. Just moments ago, the Senate passed it too. Now the bill is on its way to President Barack Obama's desk, where he has the option to veto it... except he almost certainly won't. The gargantuan document lays out a $1.15 trillion spending plan that has received solid (if not unanimous) support from both sides of the aisle and should prevent a government shutdown like the one we saw in 2013. But at what cost?
>Update: As expected, President Obama has just signed the bill, enacting both the $1.1 trillion budget and CISA.
>In a nutshell, CISA was meant to allow companies to share information on cyber attacks — including data from private citizens — with other companies and the Department of Homeland Security. Once DHS had all the pertinent details, they could be passed along to the FBI and NSA for further investigation and, potentially, legal action. The thing is, critics saw the bill as way for government agencies to more easily keep tabs on Americans without their knowledge. CISA was derided by privacy advocates and tech titans alike, with companies like Amazon, Apple, Dropbox, Google, Facebook and Symantec (to name just a few) issued statements against an earlier version of the bill.
>>63822595
>By sticking CISA into such a huge omnibus bill, there's basically no way it won't become law. And if anything, the version of CISA that was quietly slipped into this budget plays with privacy even faster and looser than the original. For one, a previously held prohibition against sharing information with the NSA has been removed, meaning America's best surveillance agency can receive pertinent data without it being handled by Homeland Security first. More importantly, the provision that required personal information to be scrubbed from cybersecurity reports also seems to have gone missing, leaving that task up to the discretion of which ever agency gets their hands on it. While the federal government has been trying to toughen its stance on cybersecurity in the wake of massive hacks on the Office of Personnel Management and Sony, we wound up with an even more effete version of a questionable plan that will soon become law.

So the memes are true. American audiences can't contain their applause, whooping, and "aww sheeeet!" for the duration of a two hour movie.
I was pretty stunned at how much food Americucks bring into the cinema too. "Snacks" doesn't justify it, more like meals. Guy in front of me had two hot dogs, a box of nachos, a packet of Oreos, and some ice cream. Jaysus.
This was the first film I saw in Chicago since I moved across the pond in September.
>>63822353
Sorry, man, but that's the average American theater experience.
>>63822353
the people behind me bought 3 boxes of popcorn and they dropped all three of their boxes on the ground.
>>63822371
Why do you put up with this?
Why can't you restrain your emotions until after the movie?
sooo why did we need to see this rally again?
The guy who gave the speech was probably the best actor in the whole thing

Better than TFA, tbqh
>>63821864
Agreed. Surprised with how much I enjoyed this as I loathe Marvel movies and thought the trailer was turd. High hopes for the sequel.
TFA felt like Guardians of the galaxy formed with a new hope
>>63821864
Why don't we make a whole thread about movies better then TFA? There are many (e.g Avatar).
It's like they made a script for a 2h 40m movie, but Abrams said "no, no, no, we should make this the excact same length as A New Hope, 2h 16m!!!"
I didn't believe it so I googled it
Jesus christ, that's exactly what happened
>>63821827
I hope they release a longer version, even my friend who had never seen a star wars movie said this one felt REALLY fast paced.
>>63821827
Why did he keep the stupid tentacle monster scene? We could've had more Poe or Phasma, two things we got severely short changed on.
