Here's a bit of anecdote for you:
My uncle is pretty similar to me. He's a NEET who dabbles in a bunch of things but isn't spectacularly great at anything. He is/was pretty average in looks, a bit uglier than the OP pic.
Anyway, way back when I was a kid, he met a Laotian woman whom he eventually married. She fed him a bunch of bullshit about being rich but just needing to be a US citizen to transfer her wealth over (I guess at that time the 'nigerian prince' scam wasn't well known). Since then, she has stolen thousands from my grandparents, been jailed for a phony bomb threat, birthed 3 half asians who are all complete embarrassments to the family, divorced my uncle for money he never had, and prostituted herself in the car which I now own.
