Eat too many apples one day, and the extra energy obtained from apples will be turned to fat all the same. The fat you eat provides energy, and if there's too much of it, it is then turned into body fat.

So weighing yourself every day doesn't really offer useful feedback on how your doing. The real reason people like us are alone is because human population is too high. We are mean't to live in small communities of friends, families and neighbours. This system worked up until the industrial revolution where the world become urbanised and interconnected.
The male population is 51% while the female population is 49%, this is not due to female infanticide but instead the natural birth rate because males were once more likely to die hunting. This may not seem like much, but the world population is 7,000,000,000. This means that 1% is 70,000,000 people who literally won't find a girl.
We literally need a huge population reduction. The human population shouldn't be 7 billion. Nor 1 billion. Nor 100 million. Nor 10 million. The population should just be 1 million people.
I dream of the day when the plague returns to decimate the human population and bring utopia.
